Jane Fonda said the quiet part out loud: “COVID is God’s gift to the Left.”

Hanoi Jane, the infamous traitor to her country and now Joe Biden surrogate, couldn’t contain her excitement while talking about the coronavirus. “What a great gift! What a tremendous opportunity!” she exclaimed. It has “ripped the Band-Aid off who [President Donald Trump] is and what he stands for and what is being done to average people and working people in this country.” And now, she gleefully asserts, “We have a chance to harness that anger and make a difference. So, I feel so blessed to be alive right now.” She gloated, “We can stop fascism.”

Except fascism is a disease of the Left, not the Right, its dishonest “antifa” branding notwithstanding. But we digress.

The real point with Fonda’s grossly cynical comments, which even she admitted is “a terrible thing to say,” is that leftists really are looking on the political “bright” side of 200,000 Americans deaths, because it gives them ammunition to attack and defeat Trump. Besides, if half of the dead were Trump supporters, well, leftists hate them as much as they hate him.

The irony is, as Vice President Mike Pence ably pointed out last night, Biden’s much ballyhooed plan to fight COVID is largely plagiarized from Trump’s plan. Democrats want to hammer Trump and copy him at the same time.

And the other irony is that Biden’s campaign chose to have Fonda appear with Kamala Harris at a virtual campaign rally after knocking Trump over the false story of him supposedly calling our troops “losers.” Apparently they forgot about Fonda’s photo-op with enemy troops during a war as American soldiers were being tortured just a few hundred yards away and dying to defeat communism, the kissing cousin of fascism. Or maybe her history is a feature, not a bug.
