The MAGA Hat Hoax Verdict
Jussie Smollet’s guilty verdict is only a glimpse of hope into a dark pit of despair when it comes to race relations in America.
Ho! Ho! Ho! The yuletide season brings us an unusual gift under the Christmas tree, and I like how it’s wrapped. What’s in the box? Let’s shake it up and see. Oh, look, it’s a guilty verdict for another leftist buffoon seeking victim status, validation, and attention. Jussie Smollet is his name, and pulling the race card and the racial wool over the eyes of the American people is his game. Not even Johnnie Cochran could have won this case for the defense. In case you aren’t familiar with one of the greatest hoaxes in modern American history, let me reintroduce some of the facts of the case.
Back in 2019, Smollet alleged that he was violently attacked by Trump supporters wearing MAGA hats who called him racial and homosexual slurs. These “Trump supporters” also poured bleach on the victim and wrapped a noose around his neck. I forgot to mention: It was below freezing in the Windy City and Smollet was headed to Subway at 2 a.m. According to The Mercury News, “The actor was dissatisfied with his salary for the show, on which he plays the popular gay character Jamal Lyon, and concocted the attack to ‘take advantage of the pain and anger of racism,’ [Police Superintendent Eddie] Johnson said.”
If we really analyze this for a moment, Jussie Smollet only did what his career in television requires of him: be a hypocrite. According to Merriam-Webster: “The word hypocrite ultimately came into English from the Greek word hypokrites, which means ‘an actor’ or ‘a stage player.’ The Greek word itself is a compound noun: it’s made up of two Greek words that literally translate as ‘an interpreter from underneath.’ That bizarre compound makes more sense when you know that the actors in ancient Greek theater wore large masks to mark which character they were playing, and so they interpreted the story from underneath their masks.”
Every one of your favorite actors or actresses is a well-documented hypocrite as the lights, camera, and action leave you mesmerized by their performances. The problem with Smollet is that he didn’t separate work from reality. Giving him D-list actor credibility would be giving him too much recognition. Not to mention his “casting” was even more pathetic for his hoax. He hired two black guys from Nigeria to play two white guys from Chicago. Let that sink in. He paid $3,500 to two black guys in below freezing temperatures in the middle of the night in Chicago to stage a hate crime attack. I can tell you one thing: Black folks do a lot of things, but walking in below freezing temperatures at 2 a.m. to get a Subway cold-cut trio isn’t one of them. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich will do just fine. Give me a break, Smollet!
The former “Empire” actor was found guilty on five counts of faking a hate crime while lying to Chicago police. Just imagine the Chicago Police Department wasting taxpayer dollars on a clown in a clown suit pump-faking the police for the race card version of “the boy that cried wolf” notoriety. Chicago is the last city in America that needs to drain its resources to investigate a false report with all the other crimes. Former Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson stated, “I just wish that the families of gun violence in this city got this much attention.”
What if the Chicago community got this much press over the reality of gang violence? What if inner-city ghettos got the same amount of resources to investigate senseless killings on the south side of Chicago? Jussie Smollet’s guilty verdict is only a glimpse of hope into a dark pit of despair when it comes to race relations in America. It’s mostly a media hoax when it all boils down.
