SPLC Employees Charge SPLC With ‘Racism’
Employees of the self-appointed leftist “anti-hate” organization are protesting the group’s decision to require certain workers to return to work in the office.
Employees of the leftist “anti-hate” group known as the Southern Poverty Law Center are charging the organization with racism after several low-level employees were required to return to in-person work. The SPLC is just now having its employees return to in-person work? This speaks volumes about the organization’s political mindset regarding the COVID pandemic, but we digress. The real story is the race-baiters being accused of racism.
The natural question is, how exactly does requiring employees to return to work at the office constitute “racism”? According to SPLC Union member Lisa Wright, it creates disparity. “Staff in more highly regarded job classifications and who are higher-paid employees are being given the flexibility to work remotely, while women, Black, brown, and lower-paid employees are forced back into the office regardless of our work, our needs, and our advocacy for more inclusive treatment,” she complains. “Forcing employees back into the office isn’t about collaboration or cooperation — this is about policing and surveillance of SPLC’s lowest-paid employees.”
As another SPLC Union member stated on social media, “The [SPLC] mission is committed to eradicating poverty while it denigrates the work of its Black women employees through low wages and forced in person attendance.”
The SPLC is infamous for its dubious “hate map” that designates many conservative and Christian organizations such as the Family Research Council (FRC) as “hate groups,” simply due to the fact that they hold to traditional biblical values regarding the definition of marriage and sexuality. “The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a morally bankrupt organization infamous for its managerial corruption, has once again released its so-called hate list,” observed FRC Senior Research Fellow Chris Gacek. “Over the last decade, the SPLC’s list has evolved into a political document that furthers the SPLC’s far Left political objectives.”
Beyond the current dustup, the gross irony and hypocrisy regarding the SPLC’s harsh judgment on sexuality and race was made plain in 2019 when its founder, Morris Dees, was fired for sexual harassment and racism in the workplace. No wonder employees don’t want to return to the office.
SPLC leaders are getting a taste of their own “woke” medicine. They have repeatedly issued false claims of “racism” based upon a critical race theory dynamic rather than a sound definition of racism or actual facts on the ground. The truth is that hate is exactly what SPLC muckrakers have been peddling for a while now, and it appears that it is starting to come back to bite them.
