Whiskey Tango? Fox News Celebrates Child Gender Experiments
In an awful lapse of judgment, Fox aired a segment celebrating the chemical transition of a young girl into a “boy.”
With “friends” like Fox News, who needs a proctologist?
In the spirit of “Pride” Month, and of further fueling the awful social contagion known as “transgenderism,” the usually right-leaning news cable channel came out on Friday with a glowing story about a 14-year-old California girl whose parents began pushing her to dress like a boy when she was an infant.
“Pride Month continues,” gushed “America’s Newsroom” anchor Dana Perino, “as we highlight the story of Ryland Whittington, whose journey of transitioning at age five has been seen by seven million people in a family YouTube video.” Fox News correspondent Bryan Llenas took it from there, and the segment was off and running.
We suspect Fox was trying to sneak one in on its viewers, most of whom would be deeply disturbed by such a story. The network’s “America’s Newsroom” show runs from 9-11 a.m., and Fox likely thought that its morning viewership demographic would be more receptive of a segment celebrating a transitioning child than would, say, a segment that ran during the evening hours. Perhaps it thought it could check a big “Pride Month” box and move on without much fuss from its viewership.
Wrong.
As The Federalist reports:
The right has come to expect transgender accolades in the corporate media, with networks such as CNN and MSNBC perpetually promoting that left-wing ideology. But conservative viewers were stunned on Friday to see that radical narrative being pushed by the only major cable network still sympathetic to their views. …
The entire segment, about Ryland Whittington and the rest of the family, was trans propaganda. It legitimized the idea that incoherent toddlers can discern their sex, that sterilizing children is compatible with “Christian faith,” that pumping wrong-sex hormones into young bodies protects them from suicide, and that pretending a girl is actually a boy is what “living authentically” looks like.
Commentator Matt Walsh, maker of the new film “What Is a Woman?” and frequent Fox News guest, couldn’t contain himself either. “I have appeared on Fox News many times,” he tweeted. “I appreciate the platform they’ve given me. If what I’m about to say ruins that relationship, so be it. We have to call this evil lunacy out wherever we see it. Especially on our own side.”
We agreed with everything Walsh said, right up until that last sentence. Fox News no longer seems to be on “our” side, if our side is the one that believes in the science of biology.
Walsh went on to call for the firing of “everyone at Fox News who aided in creating and promoting a controversial segment promoting chemical castration for children.”
“The poor kid is 14 now with a permanently altered body,” said Walsh, “condemned to live forever with an identity imposed as a small child. It is horrifying, evil, and sick. And it is what Fox chose to promote.”
Shame on Fox News. We’re not sure what else to say, but straight, honest, agenda-free TV news is getting pretty hard to come by.
