Re: White House Put Thumb on Facebook Scales

“Something about interfering with the free flow of information seems very dystopian. Do we still have a Constitution that stands on its own? And what does that Sixth Amendment do?” —Washington

“Facebook’s censorship, shadow-banning, intrusion into conversations with unwanted dubious claims about the topics under discussion, etc. were all part of the corporate misconduct for which I fired them in November 2020. I see they have not changed their ways. I’ll not consider using them for social media as long as they do not respect the rights of their customers to express their views, or their right to speak freely with their chosen group of friends.” —Minnesota

Re: Hillary’s ‘Weaponization of Loneliness’

“Social media is superficial, trite, trivial, and shallow. For years we’ve known many major decisions are made on golf courses, at the lunch table, and at venues that offer far more than can be communicated via social media. The social contagion of transexualism is exacerbated by social media, as well as hypersensitivity to racial tenses and political trends. In contrast, in-person communications is soul-to-soul and an inch wide but a mile deep. Communicate deeper, stronger, enduringly, and endearingly: pause electronics.” —Missouri

Re: CCP Confusion in K-12 Schools

“Good article honing in on a problem I didn’t know existed. It is hard to believe that members of our school boards are so ‘out of it’ that they would knowingly ‘partner’ with Chinese institutions. If this is true, an easier solution might be a local exposure of the facts to the public in the area of the incursion. This might be quicker than another federal law.” —Pennsylvania

Re: Good News: Jordan Peterson’s Higher-Ed Alternative

“Schools do not want or allow their students to think; teachers and profs provide their agenda with emotional rhetoric that is more often than not filled with half-truths. Being able to reason/think are important, but one must have the truth and facts before one can think about anything. I am excited to see what this university looks like!” —Texas

Re: Solar Power From Slave Power?

“Well said. While we are prohibited from possibly displacing some Cute Furry Critter™ to mine the needed materials here at home, we’ll pay handsomely to employ a fair percentage of slave labor in China to use environmentally harmful methods to mine and refine the needed minerals and then ship them here. After that, enviros will gladly displace a different Cute Furry Critter™ to install acres of solar panels (willfully ignoring the challenge of disposing toxic materials when their lifespan ends). Let’s also ignore similar aspects of the Wonderful Wind™ industry.” —Virginia

“Scale this out to almost all our consumer goods, pharma, and rare earth, and try to get a straight answer from China on anything we find concerning. Ain’t gonna happen. We should have been the last nation to hitch our wagon to the CCP. They are at war with us, yet we trust them to send us clean, safe, life-extending drugs? Most of our biggest industries and much of our critical infrastructure are now sourced from China. Our industrial base has been sold to the highest bidders, and we are losing the brain power and blue-collar tradesmen and women for a successful society. Soon we won’t have enough plumbers, electricians, machine operators, and experienced engineers. It’s already getting hard to find good help.” —Oregon

Re: In Brief: Conservatives Take Scalps in the Culture War

“I’m glad that things are turning around for corporate America. I am much more concerned about our woke military. If that doesn’t end soon, we are doomed. America needs a fighting force, not drag queen shows or the worry about pronouns. Since the Chinese and Russians are at my door, I don’t have much faith in our current military. I know there are still brave warriors in our military, but what about the woke ones? Will they have their fellow brothers’ and sisters’ backs in a fight, or will they turn tail and run?” —Alaska

Re: Woke USWNT Whiffed World Cup Chances

“An upbeat article at the end. It is hard to have put my life on the line fighting for the freedoms in this country that are guaranteed by the Constitution. It reaffirms my belief that in order for a person to understand what it means to be American, they must first serve this country through the military, volunteer, perform overseas social services. etc.” —Oregon

Re: Monday: Below the Fold

“1.) China is watching. We are all less safe because of Joe Biden’s draining of emergency oil reserves.
2.) Let’s face it. Joe Biden is our leader, and this systemic child trafficking falls right on his shoulders.
3.) Student debt is a racket for colleges, universities, and predatory lenders to rake in billions of dollars from unsuspecting young men and women whose degrees won’t cover the debt and normal living expenses.
4.) DC office buildings can be repurposed as dormitories for the homeless, allowing them to leave the dangerous squalor. 5.) Hitler would love the gender experimenting.” —Ohio
