Knowledge: Is That All There Is?
Ideas start out innocently enough, but paraphrasing, like the tiniest of seeds as depicted in the Bible, the mustard seed, though the smallest of seeds, grows into a great tree that houses the many birds.
And so it started with an e-mail missive from Dr-Bill-Snedden Senior who wrote, “We are all wrong some of the time! Though one of my Tee shirts says ‘I may not always be right, But I am never wrong!’ That seems appropriate for old & wise dudes.”
One thing led to the other, leading to the response, “I used to think I was perfect; But I made one mistake; Once I thought I was wrong; But I wasn’t.” Who said words were not fun?
Bringing to mind another version, “All I know is I don’t know nothin’,” an obvious truism, but upon further examination, can really mean the exact opposite as a double negative makes the statement positive, i.e. “All I know is that I know everything.” Words can be tricky and fun but often do not mean what they seem to say, fortunately for devious politicians.
An obvious political example could be made by the forty-some statements made by rhetorician President Barack Obama in defense and promotion of his signature ACA legislation A.K.A, ObamaCare, “If you like your plan, If you like your doctor, etc etc etc, you can keep your plan…doctor…etc… PERIOD… PERIOD… PERIOD…”
Turns out those Obama words do not mean what they say as a later final explanation offered by new “Mouth of the South,” finally inserts the caveat, the plan allowed to be kept had to measure up to the stipulated ObamaCare plan, a convenient afterthought that was never thought or expressed in words.
Obama tried emulating wrestler magnate Jimmy Hart who was all things to all people, from professional wrestling manager, executive, and composer, having managed professional wrestler super heroes Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart, Greg The Hammer Valentine, Jerry The King Lawler, he Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, King Kong Bundy, Earthquake Dino Bravo, The Nasty Boys, The Giant, and The Honky Tonk Man. Before the Mouth’s career in professional wrestling, Hart was a member of rock band The Gentry’s, best known for the 1965 top five Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Keep on Dancing.”
World Leader Pretender Obama, much like “The Mouth of the South,” was convinced by the media of his superior oratory skills but did not realize what the original Mouth of the South knew as fact that the words and acts in promotion of popular wrestlers were fake, staged, and entertainment, with the caveat, “Do not do this at home,” which of course some obviously inebriated macho copycats attempted, much to their chagrin.
The point of the Mouth story is that the Mouth knew he was selling entertainment and did it in style supported by accomplishment, while Obama was selling health care insurance about which he knew nothing, as it was over his pay grade of “Community Organizer.”
There are a plethora of statements, understandings, and misunderstandings, about words and their meanings, such as encountered in Double Entendres in both the good and vulgar sense.
Albert Einstein is considered to be the most intelligent man according to IQ or SAT quotients, who explained the difference between the sublime and the ridiculous by his distinction of the most intelligent and least intelligent of humans by the following exposition. “The difference between the most intelligent human that ever lived and the least intelligent human that ever lived, is infinitesimal compared to all the knowledge there is.”
There it is; the source of the TV program, “Little Einsteins,” which according to Albert’s definition, all humans in fact are, and therefore should be proud to be members of the human family rather than that of lower animals.
The examples go on and on, including experiences by Saint and Sinner Saint Augustine, who when strolling on the beach while contemplating things and knowledge of The Deity, came upon a little boy digging a small hole in the sand, then running to the ocean front, filling his bucket with water, dumping the bucket of water into the little hole, and repeating the process for some time.
St. Augustine questioned the little boy as to what it was he was doing, to which the little boy responded that he was trying to put the ocean into his little hole in the sand. Augustine countered that he could not possibly put that huge ocean into that little hole in the sand. The little boy, probably an angel, responded, “And so it is that you cannot put all the knowledge of God into your little head.”
And so it is with all knowledge that must forever be limited to human, not eternal capacity. As humans age, knowledge fades as it fluctuates from debilitating old age loss of memory, to senility, bringing to mind the thought that, “I used to think I knew all the answers, and now I can’t remember the questions.” Perhaps that has its good side as then it is time for wisdom of the elders to rear its not so ugly head.
Knowledge dates back to the very earliest writings in history, God, in the very first book of the Bible in Genesis 2: 17 commanded, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
Enter Satan in the form of the serpent, no doubt then a beautiful creature, who told a lie that was apparently true on the surface. Satanic deception in reference to Eve’s defense, “But from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die” The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
So there it is, the Satan Lucifer modus operandi, is in this case, actually telling the truth to sell his lie to draw people away from God and into his tangled diabolical web. Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, their eyes were opened and they covered themselves up as for the very first time, they realized they were naked, in more ways than one.
Elsewhere in 1 Corinthians 13:2, the Bible states, “And if I should have prophecy and should know all mysteries, and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.” There it is, knowledge is not the epitome for humanity, as loving charity is superior to empty knowledge.
Life is not what is said, done, or known, but the opposite of “Man’s Inhumanity To Man,” a phrase, used with a sense of regret, and coined by Robert Burns and used in his 1785 Dirge “From Man was made to Mourn.” 'Many and sharp the num'rous ills–Inwoven with our frame–More pointed still we make ourselves–Regret, remorse, and shame–And Man, whose heav'n-erected face–The smiles of love adorn–Man’s inhumanity to man– Makes countless thousands mourn!.“
Music Artist Hella 2007 lyrics; "Life comes down to The things that people do when they think no one’s looking…When your beginning has no end; You witness all the things that never happened.”
Overwhelming regret is caused by knowledge superseding what might have been, proven by yet more Biblical wisdom, when humans are rewarded or punished because of what good or lack thereof is done to fellow humans in the form of charity, even little things like a cold cup of water.
The Bible says God will reward us for a cup of water given in Jesus’ name, shall in no wise lose his reward. God promises to reward the good deeds, as “No good deed for the Lord will go unrewarded.” Knowledgeable people of the World turn all good things around, reinventing God’s promise as, “No good deed will go unpunished.”
Turning knowledge and natural purpose on its head is the glorification of perversion of the Law of God reflected in Natural Law as concerns the purpose of the sexes and natural reproductive acts, which perversion gains acceptance as a good thing by the masses as promulgated and mandated by an all-knowing government that denies freedom of religion while elevating perversion of the Law of God and Natural Law to the level of government accepted and mandated religion that ignores natural effects of perversion with debilitating HIV AIDS.
Knowledge as to the reality of the growing, developing, functioning, baby in the womb is knowledge abortionists choose NOT TO KNOW, else annually killing 1.2 million American babies in the womb would not only be unjustified, but punishable as violent hate crime. Even Pogo knows that as to humans, “We have found the enemy and they is us.”
As demonstrated from the beginning of human history to the ever evolving today, a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, and Satan, the father of lies, sees to it that it goes to his advantage. Caveat Emptor; Let the buyer beware. Knowledge is to be sought after and attained, but wisdom and related common sense trump knowledge at near every level, as aficionados of Ivy League Harvard type education eventually find that their distortion of knowledge is not only worthless without real job opportunities, but damning at the conclusion of the temporary life span allotted to mankind.
If there is just importance on pure knowledge, computers, smart iPhones, Tablets, and uncountable frivolous useless APPS; Peggy Lee was right as she sang a 1960s sad song, “Is that all there is; Is that all there is; If that’s all there is my friends; Then let’s keep dancing; Let’s break out the booze and have a ball; If that’s all there is.”
