Rancher Bundy’s ‘Hateful,’ Racist Remarks

Nevada Rancher Cliven Bundy made incendiary remarks about whether the “Negro” fared better under slavery. Bundy was inundated with the harshest ridicule and contempt from Liberals, Conservatives, and Media alike.

Bundy tried to explain but was contemptuously and mercilessly derisively put down by all facets of the media for the following remarks to reporters according to the New York Times: “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Later on The Peter Schiff Show, Bundy rambled more: “In my mind I’m wondering, are they better off being slaves, in that sense, or better off being slaves to the United States government, in the sense of the subsidies? I’m wondering. That’s what. And the statement was right. I am wondering.”

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, 2016 GOP presidential contender, and other Republican and Conservative politicians were quick to distance themselves from the controversy, as Rand said, “His remarks on race are offensive and I wholeheartedly disagree with him.” The Republican National Committee chimed in with, “Bundy’s comments were completely beyond the pale, both highly offensive and 100% wrong on race.”

Conservative radio host Sean Hannity said he worries Democrats will now use Bundy’s repugnant and despicable comments to paint everyone on the far right as racists. Democratic National Committee spokesman Mo Elleithee added fuel to the fire: “If you ever want to be taken seriously for your outreach efforts, you might want to start by not defending racists.”

As Paul Harvey famous tag line said, “And now, the rest of the story.” First of all, the underlying caveat is the fallacy of “The pot calling the kettle black,” an idiom used to claim that a person is guilty of the very thing of which they accuse another. President Obama and AG Eric Holder are notorious for sticking their nose into isolated instances of white on black crimes while ignoring the much higher ratio of black on white crime, case in point, the Knockout Game particularly popular among black youths that target unsuspecting white or Jewish victims.

Then there are race-baiting black reverends and “Ambulance Chasers” Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson coming to the aid of any black victim of white crime, as self-appointed vigilantes. Sharpton in particular is sickeningly racist but as a reward, gets his own TV show on NBC. Obama and Biden have a history of verbal gaffes but they get a pass.

So now one rough and ready cattle rancher who faced wrongful government military-type confrontation by hundreds of gun wielding BLM FEDS makes politically incorrect statements and is scorched and flogged. But a close analysis of what Bundy said may not be the hate attributed to his less-than-genteel remarks. The great anointed one and pride of prestigious Ivy League Harvard does not have the advantage of the rancher’s excuse for making inappropriate remarks.

Now to the real defense of Bundy who needs any help he can muster. On the Bundy opening statement, “The Negro fared better under slavery,” this is a statement with much truth as many black slaves were treated well and respected, almost like family. They worked the farms and plantations but though some were mistreated, as are workers of any color in some of today’s workplaces. Slaves received food, clothing, shelter, and medical attention, in most cases superior to what was available in their mother country they were wrongly removed from, mostly by their own kind who sold them to British and Dutch merchants.

Now concerning this statement: “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Bundy is correct on abortion as he referred to blacks disproportionately killing their own babies, against their mostly Christian precepts. That statement is telling it like it is, as black abortions are up to three times the proportion of abortions by white women. The point is that if blacks disrespect themselves so much that they kill their black babies, how can they expect more respect from non-blacks?

"They put their young men in jail,“ indirectly, by not holding their feet to the fire as to getting a minimum high school diploma, leaving them with very few skills other than pimping drugs for profit and for themselves personally. "They never learned how to pick cotton and have a family life and doing things” can be interpreted loosely that they never learned freedom provided by job skills, and how to get a job, rather than accept debilitating joblessness on the dole.

The president may be the worst enemy of the black working community in that he would rather kill jobs and provide welfare, enabling the debilitation of black families that are almost forcibly separated, mother from father, in order to qualify for the largesse of their benefactor who issues job-killing rules and mandates that almost demand black mothers not to declare identity of the fathers. Black unemployment on average is about double that of whites, so is Obama truly a friend of the black community?

Mr. Bundy may be rough around the edges as should be expected of a cowboy working the range all his life, but as close to 100% as can be gotten, detractors are taking the wheels off his flaming wagon. Higher education does not impart wisdom, understanding, common sense, or charity to the slaves of over-educated intelligentsia which diplomas might better be used as kindling to start useful range fires rather than proud haughty fiery words they sling at a disadvantaged defenseless cowpuncher.

Jesus bent down to write in the sand with his finger, and said to the accusers of the woman caught in adultery, “Let him who is without sin throw the first stone….and silently one by one, starting with the eldest, they quietly drifted away.”

That was the Bible; that was then and this is now. Rancher Cliven Bundy might respond to all the criticism, “I don’t see nobody walkin’ their remarks away.”
