Obama Has Taken Us Up the Creeque
We are broke, busted, disgusted, and president Obama can’t be trusted. Hmmm, put some music to that.
Remember the Mamas and Papas? Their bouncy harmonies survive the test of time. Creeque Alley is a particularly toe-tapping ditty, and a superb vehicle to capture President Obama’s follies that have truly taken us up the creek.
Fortunately, Obama’s good vibrations and our “hope and change” temptations can’t go on indefinitely. Indeed, Tea Party dreams could soon become a reality.
I encourage you to enjoy this catchy tune, Creeque Alley by The Mamas and Papas before continuing with my wistful rendition below.
Barrack and Mitchy were gettin’ kind of itchy
Just to leave the rev. Wright behind
Crusaders and campaigners all workin’ at a frenzy
Tryin’ to get an organizer on the frontline
At fundraisers hope and change peddlers sat
And after every speech they’d pass the hat
Nancy and Harry just a-gettin’ lower
In D.C., you know where that’s at
And no one’s getting fat except Uncle Sam
Cronies said “Bama, you know there aren’t many
Who can read a teleprompter the way that you do,” let’s go low
Bama said golly gee I’ve audacity
I’ll be the messiah for you
And all his bundlers sat (in the PAC halls)
And after every speech they’d pass the hat
Nancy and Harry still a-gettin’ lower
In D.C., you know where that’s at
And no one’s getting’ fat except Uncle Sam
When Rahm was conniving planned to go with Clinton,
But he changed his mind one day
Standin’ on the fence, falls to Bama, hence
“Take me to the White House right away”
When Bama wooed the media he gave them love bumps
Now they’re in the tank, all their stories are pumps
Nancy and Harry still a-gettin’ lower
In D.C., you know where that’s at
And no one’s getting’ fat except Uncle Sam
Jobs slump, stimulus dumps, regs stumps, we’re big chumps
Don’t you work as hard as you play?
Debt up, poverty up, everything is mucked up
Guess socialists are always that way
Distracting, dividing, class warfare is so baleful
Obamacare is gettin’ rather rueful
Nancy and Harry still a-gettin’ lower
In D.C., you know where that’s at
And no one’s getting’ fat except Uncle Sam
Di-di-di-dit dit dit di-di-di-dit, whoa
Broke, busted, disgusted, Obama can’t be trusted
And the media is starting to flea
Your business you didn’t make it, enrollments they have to fake it
We knew it’d unravel eventually
Greasin’ on Federal Reserve cards
Easy money is marred but tapering’s hard
Bama’s good vibrations and our hopeful temptations
Can’t go on indefinitely
And Tea Party dreamin’ is becomin’ a reality.
Obama’s policies “creeque,” having taken us up a blind alley. Whether the Tea Party provides the impetus, or more establishment-oriented Republicans take back the senate this fall, it will be sweet music to the ears of citizens who are tired of Obama surrendering America.
He can’t go on indefinitely, but California Dreamin’, indeed the American dream, can even overcome a bad Monday Monday. Just get out of our way and allow us to be exceptional.
