Foot in Mouth: American Media
With the 24/7 coverage by the main media of the Utah Representative Jason Chaffetz and his pre-election gaffe concerning the Surgeon General we don’t currently have, I felt compelled to write this. I googled Surgeon General and instead of getting a description of the U.S. Surgeon General, I get dozens of articles about Jason’s gaffe. And it isn’t even much of a gaffe considering all the utter lunatic and sometimes purposefully mean gaffes from Democrats.
One of the more hilarious gaffes is from our “brilliant” VP, Joe Biden. I realize that Easterners often don’t understand the West and some of our vernacular, but this one is just too good and by way, dismissed and covered up by the main media. Someone says, among other things, we have a shortage of ‘cattle guards.’ The VP says, “That is easy, why don’t you just hire more cattle guards?” Of course, no one, at least anyone in the main media, knows of Joe’s blatant racist comments concerning his boss prior to the Presidency. Joe compliments Barack Obama for being “clean” and “articulate.” Exactly how all black people want to hear themselves described by rich, old white men.
Then there is our illustrious President, the smartest President ever in the WH (according to many in the main media) and his speech to some military people. During the speech, he was praising Corpsmen. However, about a dozen times, he called them Corpse Men; like the Walking Dead. Not a peep out of the main media, even though there were hundreds of palms over the faces in the audience that day. I suspect very few remember his decrying the fact we no longer have a Transcontinental Railroad. Woops! I mean that railroad that goes over the ocean…. "We used to have the best infrastructure in the world here in America. We’re the country that built the Intercontinental Railroad.“
Of course, we can’t forget, well yea, we can since it was hardly reported, Chuck Schumer’s brilliant statement: "Three branches of government; the House, the Senate, and the President.” Who knew? Well everyone past 5th grade except the senior Senator from New York.
And we can’t forget our super “smart” former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and her idea of how passing bills should be handled; in particular, the largest and most expensive bill in modern American history, the Affordable Healthcare Act: “We have to pass it, to know what’s in it.” Of course, she is really good at arithmetic. During a speech about job loss in Americam she said, “Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package 500 million Americans lose their jobs.” Is it just me or do we have only 300 million Americans in total, including kids, babies and old folks? And we lose 500 million jobs a month?
Of course Democrats often do things outright mean. Case in point: The unbelievable vicious attack by the new Democrat darling Wendy Davis on her opponent, Greg Abbott. I saw the ad; it was a personal attack on a man in a wheelchair, i.e., an attack on a disabled person. Imagine if the roles had been reversed? There would have been 24-hour coverage for days by the media; but to be fair, some of the main media did report it – for about a day. The fact that she followed it up by doing a press conference with a bunch of wheelchair bound folks on the stage only showed that she was saying, “Some of my best friends are in wheelchairs.”
Senator Mark Pryor of Arkansas gets my personal recommendation for the most disgusting remarks about his opponent Tom Cotton, when accusing Tom “of harboring a sense of entitlement” because he happened to be a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan.
These are just a tiny touch of Democrat gaffes. They do it almost every day and the only place most of these gaffs ever get reported is in the alternate media. The main media in America are so biased and invested in the Democrats, they have long since lost their reason for existence – to report the facts without bias. So much for the First Amendment. On the upside, Americans are seeing through this nonsense. I believe the press and their genuflecting to the Democrats influenced this last midterm election, most considerably.
