Muslims, if You Don’t Like the Policy, Then Quit
There has been an outrage from some Muslim workers at a manufacturing plant in Wisconsin. Supposedly, the CEO of the company is a racist. Yes, a religion racist. I am not sure how that works, but that is what they say. He recently changed the company policy that is striking down religious freedom — supposedly. Dan Ariens, the owner, has recently created a new policy that allows Muslim employees to pray only twice a day during certain breaks. Of course, they are crying this baseless scream that Ariens is ruining their faith and so on. I see some hypocrisy brewing in the distance.
There is only one pesky little problem with their outcry. It is meaningless. And the reason is quite simple. The Constitution allows Ariens to do this. Even the EEOC does not protect the Muslims in this case. All the employer is required to do is make reasonable accommodations as long as there is no “burden on the operations of the business.” The Muslim employees were actually given a prayer room by the company. It was fixed up in fancy rugs and mid-eastern decor, but that is an afterthought.
The employees are now crying because they claim the company they chose to work is making a policy change that benefits the business. Maybe I am just a mean ol’ ruthless capitalist, or jerk, or misunderstanding, or whatever, but these employees made a choice to work at this manufacturer. In fact, they are making choices now. Ten of the 53 Muslims that work there now are making the choice to abide by the new policy and pray on their scheduled breaks, instead of the required five a day at certain times. Ariens is a private company. It cannot directly discriminate against any religion for certain reasons, but if stopping the assembly line for a total of 70 minutes a day will inhibit production, then it has the legal right to say the employees must pray on their break, or they will be fired. Wisconsin is a Right to Work state. Period. Ariens has told the employees that if they leave for this reason, they can be rehired, and even put on a shift that will not conflict with the prayer times, but that is too accommodating. One employee, Adan Hurr, said that he “loves working for Ariens,” then called this a “travesty.” No. This is not a travesty. A travesty is the obvious governmental push against Christians and protecting of other groups because they are politically aligned with the politics of this administration.
Now, of course, this issue is not over. There will be a subsequent law suit that follows this whole legal ordeal. However, I see some hypocrisy being served. Naturally, the left will begin to whine and cry about how another money grabbing CEO is coming down and crashing these poor people’s religion. That this is so “unconstitutional” and Freedom of Religion was violated. Being the good progressive liberals they are, the feelings will reign over constitutional interpretation and facts. The fact is the First Amendment says that Congress cannot make a law that prohibits the practice of one’s religion in this country. The document does not say one thing about private companies bending to each and every religious practice. Unfortunately, given the region of the country and the liberal judges that Obama has been able to appoint, no thanks to RINOs like McCain and Graham, there will be some type of unconstitutional ruling against the company, and this will probably end up in front of the SCOTUS, which is becoming more and more political.
This is where the hypocrisy army invades the town. If someone is a “misunderstood” Muslim, they will probably get what they want. This prediction is just from taking a step back and looking at this administration and their complete disdain for the Constitution. If you think Obama really cared about the Constitution, then you are a fool. There is no other way to say it. Just look at the recent gun grab executive order that will literally do nothing to stop gun violence and would not have stopped any mass shootings before, but I digress… Anyway, do you remember the Christian cake bakers that would not bake a cake for a gay wedding? Their reason was cited on their company being faith based. That did not matter to the liberal judge. Now, their doors are shut because of hurt feelings, but mainly because they were Christians.
Conservative commentator Steven Crowder decided to show the hypocrisy of the left and its attitude towards certain religions by acting like a flamboyant gay man, then going into Muslim bakeries in Dearborn, Michigan, and asking for a cake at his wedding. They told him they were not going to bake one for him and refused him service, citing they would not do that for a gay wedding. Nothing was mentioned by the left. If this was not a conservative simply making a point, and this truly happened, what do you think would happen? Would a judge rule against the Muslims and shut down their shop? Of course not. That is ridiculous if you think all religions are treated the same in this country. Just ask Memories Pizza Parlor in Indiana. Or, ask the florist who denied a gay couple flowers. This list could go on much longer when Christianity is being targeted by the government. But how short would it be for any other religion?
Those businesses, run by people with an outspoken faith, and practices based on their faith, have more of a complaint than the Muslims in this case. These businesses have direct adverse results due to the government intervening against their religion. The Muslims are having issues from a private business they are employed with, not the federal government.
At this point in the United States, if Muslims could have their way, there would be Sharia Law rule. Fifty-one percent of Muslims that are in this country have said they rather have Sharia than the Constitution. That should make you wonder why they are here. If they believe Sharia is so great, and it should be the law of the land, affecting every portion of your life, then common sense would make you think, “Why are you here?” I am sure a manufacturer based in an Arab country gives five prayers breaks a day. Live in a country that has Sharia, and all will be well in your world, but Islam does not work like that. It’s called a caliphate.
Sure, anyone in this country has the freedom to worship any deity they choose, or even follow a religion that teaches a spaghetti monster in the sky created the universe, also known as a “pastafarian.”
The bottom line is you may not like what your employer is doing, but the last time I checked Congress was not making this policy for Ariens, saying the Muslims could only pray at certain times. It is Ariens Manufacturing.
