Post Office Issues New Commemorative Kamala Harris ‘Fweedom’ Stamp
“Without that voice in the stroller proclaiming ‘fweedom’ in Selma, we might not be where we are today as a country.”
U.S. — In honor of Vice President Kamala Harris’ marching in the Civil Rights movement while still a baby, the United States Postal Service has issued a commemorative “Fweedom” stamp.
“Let fweedom wing!” proclaims the inspiring stamp, featuring the iconic speech impediment of baby Kamala while she fought for Civil Rights from inside her stroller.
“We are so proud to introduce the ‘Fweedom’ stamp, capturing the heroism of baby Kamala,” said U.S. Postmaster Louis DeJoy. “Let your friends and family be reminded of the ‘fweedom’ we all enjoy, every time they receive something in the mail. Get yours today!”
The stamp release continues the Post Office’s attempt to honor the heroes of the Civil Rights movement. “When you think of the Civil Rights Movement, you think of Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and baby Kamala,” explained historian Noam Diggle. “Without that voice in the stroller proclaiming ‘fweedom’ in Selma, we might not be where we are today as a country.”
At publishing time, the Post Office had announced that any mail-in ballot for Kamala postmarked with a “Fweedom” stamp would count double.
