Perhaps I am dating myself, but I think we remember that classic Sci-Fi movie starring Kurt Russell from 1981, Escape from New York. Interestingly enough, the movie was set in 1997, and Manhattan had become the maximum security prison for the United States. Russell’s character, the memorable Snake Plisken, was a former Special Forces soldier who had run afoul of the law and was imprisoned. When Air Force One goes down with the President in Manhattan, Plisken is called on to go in and rescue the President in order to gain his freedom…and he only has 24 hours. For me, it is still a favorite movie, and who can ever forget the cage death match?

There was a 1996 sequel called Escape from LA, set in 2013, and it took a more dystopian perspective, trying to demonize conservatives. LA had broken off from the continental US due to an earthquake, and people were sentenced to LA Island.

But my point is that when you look at all our major urban population centers, they are starting to resemble the crime, chaos, and urban deterioration depicted in those two films. Nope, there is no Snake Plisken. But how interesting it is that we find so-called elected officials, such as the Congresswoman from Illinois, who referred to our Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers as terrorists. Leftists are now decrying the removal of criminal illegal immigrants from our Nation as “kidnapping.” And we have the frontrunner to be the next Mayor of New York City firmly asserting that he will uphold the sanctuary city status of New York City. I guess he has not read the US Constitution and come to grasp that he is violating the law by willfully and intentionally harboring those who have committed a felony offense. Oops, I forgot, Robert Francis O'Rourke asserted that Marxists should just “f” the rules.

This mentality is being repeated all across our Nation, as the title of this missive offers, and in those urban population centers controlled by, yep, Democrats. They are indeed converting our major cities into sanctuaries for criminality, and they are aided and abetted by black robe tyrant judicial activists more concerned with the delusion of “social justice” than the law.

I have to ask a somewhat rhetorical question: what kinda people complain about stopping crime, especially murder and other violent crimes? What kinda people will defend heinous criminals who are in our country illegally terrorizing law-abiding citizens? These are the type of people who want to turn American cities into a collection of centers resembling the films aforementioned. And yes, there will be a mass exodus from these locales, who would blame anyone? When you have the desire of Marxists to disarm Americans, demonize law enforcement, and embrace murderers, rapists, child sex predators, and worse, there is only one recourse…if it continues this way. That would be as we saw in the films, seal these places off from the rest of us who can reason and have sane minds.

Nah, I say we go into these municipalities and restore law and order. Yes, leftists are going to have apoplectic meltdowns and condemn us as “dictators,” “fascists,” “authoritarians,” “threats to democracy,” and whatever else they can project upon others, since that is who they are. One would think that after the severe drubbing of the November 2024 election, Marxists would have said, “This dawg don’t hunt.” Nope, they have quadrupled down.

The very same day when President Donald Trump invoked the lawful and constitutional Home Rule provision in Washington, DC, a man was shot to death. The leftists would say, pay no attention, or as Shoney’s Big Boy Illinois Governor Pritzker would say, “it’s just a distraction.” A simple analysis of removing all the Democrat controlled cities from our statistical assessment of violent crime would make America one of the safest Countries in the world. Nope, Marxists would prefer to turn it into the dystopian wastelands where rampant violence rules.

Isaac Hayes played the leader of Manhattan in Escape from New York; his title was “The Duke.” Today, NYC is faced with a diabolical, smooth-talking, charismatic charlatan who would bring art to life and make a movie a reality. Same as in Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Minneapolis, Memphis, Atlanta, Austin, Denver…the list goes on. And what are law-abiding citizens to do? First, pull your heads outta yer fourth point of contact and stop voting for and supporting these purveyors of crime and criminality. Does your Mayor and City Council support harboring criminal illegal immigrants and believe criminals have more rights than you? Do your local elected officials, including judges, believe it is “fair” to release violent criminals back onto your streets?

I get it, Trump Derangement Syndrome is real, but if Donald Trump cured cancer, which Joe Biden was supposed to do, would you cheer for a return of cancer? You cannot be so stuck on stupid that you would prefer to be shot, murdered, raped, assaulted, carjacked, have your children assaulted, your home invaded…just so you can say, I hate Donald Trump. I think that is what is called “cutting off your nose to spite your face.”

As more escape from these Marxist hellholes, so does congressional representation. In the end, there will be small pockets of Marxists with their Islamic jihadist comrades. Their dream of taking over America will NEVER come to fruition, but this is going to be an intense ideological battle; no debate and no discourse, but a battle of wills. How do you contend with an opposition that declares there are no rules? Simple, you use the rules and the rule of law to crush them. No longer can we have weak individuals who state they are afraid of escalation. Marxists and Islamic jihadists have escalated this to the point where an anti-Semitic, Islamic jihadist is close to ruling over the city where his kindred murdered thousands of our American brothers and sisters.
