Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is taking steps to ensure your Second Amendment rights continue to be trampled as much as possible after a ruling in January nullified the city’s ban on firearm retailers. CBS Chicago reports, “The Emanuel administration has outlined a plan to impose strict regulations on gun shops that open within city limits, including a requirement to record every sale on video. … [G]un shops in Chicago could not be located within 500 feet of a school or park – limiting them to very small pockets of the city covering less than .5 percent of Chicago.” As if that weren’t bad enough, “[S]hops would not be allowed to sell more than one handgun per month to a single customer.” The city has until July to draft regulations, which gave them plenty of time to propose these absurd prescriptions.
