A new law on New York State’s book forbids selfies with cats. Big cats. To be fair, the law goes after fairs and circuses that may offer a photo op with a big cat for cash. But what pressing need compelled New York’s legislature – populated by people of average intelligence, we’re sure – and governor to think this law was a good idea? Who is protected by this law? Perhaps it is designed to protect those big furries from mobs of Ugg-wearing 12-year-old girls and their iPhones. Surely its not to protect the people paying for the opportunity to get their mug and 500-lb ball of teeth and claws in the same frame – pretty sure the law of Survival of the Fittest applies in those instances.
