Facebook: Only a Few Workers Squelched Conservative News
If one rogue employ can suppress conservative ideas, so can 1,000.
In an announcement Monday, Facebook admitted that, yes, some of its employees actively sought to downplay conservative news on the website. As part of its response, the social media company said those employees will be retrained. The admission that Facebook censored conservative topics is a story that has been simmering for years. Now that the story broke, it’s another example of Leftist intolerance.
“The online giant denied that it’s shown ‘systematic political bias,’ but admitted employees played a bigger role than previously acknowledged in determining what news is highlighted in the trending topics section,” reported The Washington Times. “Facebook also acknowledged that it couldn’t rule out the possibility that rogue employees unintentionally discriminated against conservative stories or even acted with malice in ‘isolated improper actions.’” The significance is if one rogue employ can suppress conservative ideas, so can 1,000. This sounds a lot like the IRS’s defense for going after conservative organizations ahead of the 2012 election.
