Video: Trump Calls Acosta ‘Rude, Terrible Person,’ Suspends Press Pass
It was quite a testy exchange between the president and CNN’s arrogant talkinghead.
“That’s enough,” President Donald Trump said. “Put down the mic. I tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN.”
Jim Acosta’s behavior was inexcusable, and the White House finally — and rightly — suspended his press pass “until further notice.” As usual, Acosta chose later to fabricate the details, claiming, “I didn’t put my hands on [the aide] or touch her as they’re alleging. It’s unfortunate the White House is saying this. … I think I handled myself professionally.”
Wrong, and wrong. The press should be reporting the news, not making the news, but the latter is all Acosta knows how to do.
