Video: Merriam-Webster Changing the Definition of Racism
A large amount of people think that black people cannot be racist because they do not have “power.”
Merriam-Webster Editor-at-Large Peter Sokolowski announced that his company will change the definition of racism to clarify its meaning. This (allegedly) comes after a 22-year-old black woman in Florissant, Missouri, sent constant emails to editor Alex Chambers. The REAL reason why Merriam-Webster may change the definition is simple.
A large amount of people think that black people cannot be racist because they do not have “power.” This definition comes from random persons in academia as an interpretation of the word and not any real definition. But if Merriam-Webster changes the definition, now the academic and social-justice-warrior types will have ammunition.
