Swalwell: The Real Story Is the Cover-Up
The rapid fall of Eric Swalwell after decades of Demo and MSM cover-ups of his abuse is a case study of corruption and abject hypocrisy.
“It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition.” —Thomas Jefferson (1785)
Remember when, during the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Demo rising star Rep. Eric Swalwell proclaimed Kavanaugh was unfit because of allegations of sexual misconduct? Those allegations were false, but it didn’t matter to the opportunistic Swalwell. He posted on social media: “Support survivors. Believe survivors. We are with you.”
Right.
Fact is, the entire leadership of the Democrat Party, including Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY), knew that Swalwell had a long history of, to put it kindly, sexual misconduct, prior to the latest rape allegations. Though he denied the allegations, he withdrew from the California governor’s race and resigned from Congress.
That is the real story behind his precipitous fall.
Swalwell, who was elected to Congress from California’s 15th district in 2013, was heralded then as the Demo Party’s golden boy. He had previously been a deputy district attorney in Alameda County since 2006 — while chalking up his own record of alleged assaults.
The first public questions about Swalwell that became national news were the result of his “honey pot” affair with ChiCom spy Christine Fang Fang in 2020.
Despite that compromise, as noted by political analyst Gary Bauer: “Even after [Fang Fang] fled to communist China, Nancy Pelosi fought to keep Swalwell on the House Intelligence Committee. Why? Because the most important thing for the Left is power. Their quest for power comes before everything, including the national security interests of the United States.”
So why only now has Swalwell been outed by his own party? After all, he was the leading Democrat in the California gubernatorial primary.
Because it was feared, after new allegations of assault and rape from four additional women, as well as the emergence of videos of Swalwell engaging with prostitutes (and other men), that the married father of three could not prevail in his candidacy for governor of California.
Do ya think? I mean, it’s California. Would any of this really matter to a majority of low-info Demo voters?
As Larry Elder noted, citing Reuters, “A fifth woman came forward to accuse Swalwell of unwanted sexual contact, saying the Democratic lawmaker drugged and raped her during an encounter in 2018.”
Elder continues: “Former House Speaker and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) claimed she knew nothing about the rumors against Swalwell. But Willie Brown, once a mentor to former Vice President Kamala Harris and a former mayor of San Francisco, and who for 15 years served as speaker of the California Assembly, said: ‘No, I’m not surprised frankly because there have been rumors after rumors after rumors, his colleagues in Washington pretty much said that. That’s what Adam Schiff said, that’s what Nancy Pelosi said.’”
George Washington University’s Frank Sesno confronted Pelosi, asserting: “Some Republicans and others are saying that Democrats turned kind of a blind eye, that they knew what [Eric Swalwell] was up to or what the allegations were.”
Predictably, she responded: “No. That’s not true. … It is absolutely not true.”
In other words Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom, Adam Schiff, and all the other Demo California mafia are liars. But that comes as no surprise to anyone with an IQ above room temperature capable of distinguishing fact from fiction.
Among many California politicos who have been Swalwell’s backers is his buddy Shawn VanDiver, who issued this statement, similar to those issued by others:
I owe an apology to every person I introduced to Eric Swalwell over the years. The rumors about him weren’t new. They had been circulating for a long time, and many people were aware of them. When he asked for my support in the California gubernatorial race, I raised those concerns directly. He unequivocally denied them, dismissing it as Washington rumor mill nonsense and claiming there was no truth behind it. He framed it as behavior from when he was single, without recognizing or acknowledging the underlying power dynamics at play.
Key point: “The rumors about him weren’t new. They had been circulating for a long time, and many people were aware of them.”
VanDiver concluded his “apology” with this gross understatement: “I took him at his word. That was a mistake and a failure.”
Seasoned San Fran political writer Steven Tavares said: “I’ve covered Eric Swawell [sic] since he was a member of the Dublin City Council. Shortly after being elected to Congress in 2013, his behavior towards women was known by all levels of our local government and the Alameda County Democratic Party.”
To the larger point of the Demo cover-up, White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller declared: “The real story here is how the Democrat Party controls its members through blackmail. It’s got a blackmail file on ALL of its politicians, and it uses them to leverage and control them until it’s time to release it! That is how sick and twisted the Democrat Party is. That’s the next thread we’ve got to pull out here.”
Commentator Brittany Hughes concludes:
[These Democrats] sent him to Congress, they contributed to his fundraisers, they worked on his campaigns. And only when he became inconvenient to their political strategy did they open up that closet door and let all his skeletons fall out. And now we have videos that somebody was sitting on for years, while the Left holds themselves up as the moral superiors for booting [Swalwell], who they knew was a sleaze bag this whole time. That’s not morality, it’s hypocrisy. And it is further truth that the Left does not give a crap about women.
You know, all those women voters who keep Demo politicians in office are tools of Demo political strategists who depend on them being emotionally incontinent idiots.
Political observer Robby Starbuck pointed out the complicity of Leftmedia talkingheads and scribes in the Swalwell cover-up: “When everything comes out about Eric Swalwell in coming weeks, remember that the media ignored it until he ran for Governor when powerful donors and Democrats wanted someone else to be Governor. Why? They aren’t journalists. They’re a propaganda army for powerful Democrats.”
National Review’s Jeffrey Blehar added:
Everybody knew Swalwell was an adulterous lech — except you. Swalwell’s name was being whispered through the Democratic grapevine on Capitol Hill by 2017 at the latest, when CNN almost surely mentioned him as the California representative cited by “more than half a dozen interviewees independently” for pursuing female staffers. Of course, CNN didn’t specifically name who they were referring to in that piece — “because the stories are unverified.”
Again, the point being, the rapid fall of Eric Swalwell after decades of Demo and MSM cover-ups of his abuse is a case study of corruption and abject hypocrisy.
For his part, all Swalwell could muster regarding his resignation was a faux cut-and-paste apology: “To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.”
So, he downgraded the allegations to “mistakes in judgment” but asserts in the same breath they are “false”?
As our Douglas Andrews concluded: “Remember: This is the same Eric Swalwell who smugly said to Donald Trump and his associates as the Biden Democrats weaponized their Department of Justice against him: ‘You’re not above the law. You’re not an elite. You’re not untouchable.’”
To that end, Swalwell’s problems don’t conclude with his resignation. As additional victims come forward, the Los Angeles County Sheriff has launched a criminal investigation, as has the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, and not a minute too soon. Again, Swalwell’s assaults have been the worst-kept secret among Demo operatives, and it is not credible to believe that in LA and Manhattan, his offenses were not previously known. But of course, both those organizations are controlled by Demos, from whom they take their cue.
Where does that leave the Cali governor’s race?
Despite Swalwell’s exit, Demos still face a difficult choice this fall — the disgraceful Katie Porter or a member of the leftist billionaire boys club, Tom Steyer.
