Timeline: Exposing the ChiCom Virus Cover-Up

Tracing the deadly serial viral deceptions propagated by Democrat politicians and their Leftmedia propagandists.

“There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily.” —George Washington (1795)

(What follows is a detailed investigative timeline of the Democrat and Leftmedia deceptions regarding the origin of COVID-19 — the ChiCom Virus pandemic. Who is responsible for the deaths of more than 600,000 Americans, and Millions worldwide. Who had most to gain by brining the economies of the free world to a grinding halt? You can review our comprehensive pandemic timeline here.)

On 30 April 2020, when Chinese dictator Xi Jinping was claiming few COVID-19 deaths, then-President Donald Trump was asked if he was aware of evidence indicating the virus might have originated in the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s (WIV) P4 infectious disease lab.

Trump declared: “Yes, I have. … You’ll be learning in the not-too-distant future. But it’s a terrible thing that happened — whether they made a mistake or whether it started off as a mistake and then they made another one. Or did somebody do something on purpose?” Trump added, “I think the World Health Organization should be ashamed of themselves,” because they were clearly complicit in the ChiCom cover-up of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus origins.

The same day, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo indicated the evidence was not conclusive yet: “We don’t know if it came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. We don’t know if it emanated from the wet market or yet some other place. We don’t know those answers.” But days later he confirmed the origin intel, saying he had seen “enormous evidence” that the virus infecting much of the world originated in the WIV’s P4 lab: “I can tell you that there is a significant amount of evidence that this came from that laboratory in Wuhan.”

Predictably, the Leftmedia talkingheads and scribes lined up to declare that Trump’s lab assertion was fake news. Typical was this CNN headliner featuring the network’s favorite “pandemic expert”: “Anthony Fauci just crushed Donald Trump’s theory on the origins of the coronavirus.” According to CNN:

Enter Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease and perhaps the single most prominent doctor in the world at the moment. … Fauci was definitive about the origins of the virus which has sickened more than a million Americans and killed more than 68,000: “If you look at the evolution of the virus in bats and what’s out there now … everything about the stepwise evolution over time strongly indicates that [this virus] evolved in nature and then jumped species.” Now, before we play the game of “he said, he said” remember this: Only one of these two people is a world-renowned infectious disease expert. And it’s not Donald Trump.“

That notwithstanding, three months before Trump’s assertion, we had already affirmed our concurrence with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) on the question of COVID-19’s origin — and in January of 2020, our sources corroborated Cotton’s original assessment that the virus likely originated in the WIV’s P4 lab.

Let’s back up for a minute and review the timeline of Sen. Cotton’s vital role in helping the Trump administration — and our nation — get out in front of the coming ChiCom Virus and exposing Xi’s cover-up.

On 22 January of last year, the day Trump first made public mention of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, Sen. Cotton warned the administration that Xi’s CCP regime was engaged in a systematic cover-up of the COVID-19 outbreak. According to Cotton: "Once again, a deadly virus is emanating from China. Hundreds have fallen ill in Asia and at least one confirmed case has reached the United States. It’s imperative that the CCP be fully transparent and share information so we can stop this disease from spreading. … In the past, the CCP has lied, falsified statistics, and suppressed information about outbreaks in order to cover for its own incompetence.”

Additionally, Cotton advised the Trump administration that he believed all travel should be stopped between the U.S. and China.

On 28 January, Sen. Cotton sent letters to the secretaries of State, HHS, and DHS, warning, “No amount of screening [at entry points] will identify a contagious-but-asymptomatic person afflicted with the coronavirus.” A day later he warned in Senate testimony that CV19 was going to be “the biggest and the most important story in the world,” but his concerns were drowned out by the Democrats’ House/Senate impeachment charade, which dominated the political and news cycles.

Recall that after Trump implemented restrictions on travel from China, presidential wannabe Joe Biden infamously insisted, “This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria xenophobia [sic], hysterical xenophobia, and fear-mongering to lead the way instead of science.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) jumped on board, condemning the restrictions and reissuing her call for passage of the Demos’ No Ban Act to prevent Trump from imposing what she said were “biased and bigoted restrictions.” Pelosi declared, “The Trump administration’s expansion of its un-American travel ban is a threat to our security, our values and the rule of law.” (There were 219 House Democrat cosponsors of the No Ban Act. On 13 March, Pelosi quietly withdrew her legislation to prevent travel bans.)

On 31 January, The Patriot Post affirmed Sen. Cotton’s findings about the ChiCom cover-up, and though the Chinese communist government claimed about 220 deaths and 10,000 infections, our sources indicated that the actual rates of infection and deaths in China are much higher. In fact, the official ChiCom reports likely represent less than 0.5% of the actual dead and infected — that’s one-half of one percent. In retrospect, this will likely prove understated, as the deaths in China may be 1,000 times the “official death count.” We warned this could be as devastating as the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, which, by the way, likely also originated in China, not Spain.

For the record, at that time, I had also spoken with a Chinese geneticist I knew personally, who distinguished herself as part of an international team working on the human genome project. She had previously worked with the Wuhan Institute P4 lab — and based on her expertise as a geneticist, she believed there are four factors about the SARS-CoV-2 virus that imply it was altered, meaning it did not come from nature.

On 27 February, The Washington Post accused Sen. Cotton of repeating a coronavirus conspiracy theory that had already been “debunked.” That was in regard to Cotton’s assertion that the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus may have originated in China’s P4 biolab in Wuhan. Likewise, on 17 February, The New York Times headlined the declaration: “Senator Tom Cotton Repeats Fringe Theory of Coronavirus Origins.”

Responding to their claims, Cotton doubled down on his position in an interview with Maria Bartiromo and a Wall Street Journal op-ed, reiterating: “Beijing has claimed that the virus originated in a Wuhan ‘wet market,’ where wild animals were sold. But evidence to counter this theory emerged in January. Chinese researchers reported in the Lancet [medical journal] Jan. 24 that the first known cases had no contact with the market, and Chinese state media acknowledged the finding. There’s no evidence the market sold bats or pangolins, the animals from which the virus is thought to have jumped to humans. And the bat species that carries it isn’t found within 100 miles of Wuhan.”

In mid-April, a government report concluded the “most likely” source of the virus was the P4 lab: “All other possible places of the virus’ origin have been proven to be highly unlikely.”

A week after Trump’s 30 April remarks about evidence pointing to the WIV P4 lab, Sen. Cotton, who had then taken on the primary role of exposing Xi Jinping’s agenda to conceal the outbreak, moved back into the line of fire. He referenced new intelligence reports indicating that in October of 2019, when he estimated the lab leak occurred, the Chinese government shut down roads and communications around the lab.

Again, those were Cotton’s comments from May of 2020, and only now is the mainstream media focusing on this well-documented incident.

Cotton added: “There’s no question that Xi Jinping and senior officials in the Chinese Communist Party were pressuring the WHO all the way back to December to undersell the risk of this virus. They knew in China early on, probably as early as the early days of December, and that this virus was both highly contagious in humans and very deadly for certain people. Yet they wanted to save face. In addition to saving face, they wanted once they realized this virus was going to cripple their own economy, that it did not remain limited to China.”

In September, Sen. Cotton called for a reckoning with the ChiCom government, insisting China should pay for its lethal and catastrophic cover-up, first seeking to end China’s “most favored nation” trade status with the U.S. Five months earlier, I wrote, “COVID-19 Was Made in China — Send Xi the Bill,” noting there was a clear and indisputable liability case to be made against China, which should include remuneration of the economic costs to our nation.

Indeed, in the 16 months since Cotton’s initial warnings, ample evidence has emerged indicating that the ChiComs have, again, “lied, falsified statistics, and suppressed information about outbreaks in order to cover for its own incompetence.”

The ChiComs have perfected former British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli’s observation about stats: “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.”

For example, as of today, Xi’s communists are reporting only 4,636 COVID deaths — in a country of 1.3 billion people where the ability to social distance and sanitize is abysmal for many millions. And yet, over the course of the past 16 months, Demo politicians and their Leftmedia ChiCom apologists have reported information from China as if it were hard fact — when almost all official ChiCom state news is fake news.

The COVID mortality in China was undoubtedly a factor in that tyrannical state’s decision this week to give parents permission to have up to three children, instead of just two.

As evidence of the lab source mounts, however circumstantial, it is increasingly clear that the Demos and media endeavored to cover up the cover-up. Some Leftmedia outlets have begun to backpedal on their claims that the lab origin was a “debunked conspiracy theory.”

This month, a year after Cotton’s original report about the mysterious Wuhan blackout in October of 2019, we now know that in the same timeframe, three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology were hospitalized with COVID-like symptoms.

Recall that in January of this year, then-Secretary of State Pompeo disclosed that investigators have “reason to believe that several researchers inside the WIV became sick in autumn 2019, before the first identified case of the outbreak [despite China’s] public claim that there was ‘zero infection’ among the WIV’s staff and students, of SARS-CoV-2 or SARS-related viruses.” He added: “Despite the WIV presenting itself as a civilian institution, the WIV has collaborated on publications and secret projects with China’s military. The WIV has engaged in classified research, including laboratory animal experiments, on behalf of the Chinese military since at least 2017.”

In February, knowing the Biden administration was likely to suppress information about the WIV lab concerns, former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe confirmed: “Mike Pompeo and I worked very hard to get some of our best intelligence out before we left the office … so we could talk about what we knew about China and COVID. And some of that intelligence is this. The Chinese military ordered scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology to experiment with coronaviruses starting as far back as 2017. Some of those viruses were 96.2% genetically similar to the current COVID-19 virus, and further, some of those scientists working on the similar coronaviruses became sick with Covid-like symptoms in the fall of 2019.”

Ratcliffe asked these salient questions: “If this really was a naturally occurring virus … if no one was to blame for this, why would Chinese officials suppress and silence doctors and scientists and journalists from writing about it? If no one was to blame, why would Chinese officials prevent the world’s best scientists and the doctors from coming to Wuhan for more than a year?”

Last week, Hudson Institute Senior Fellow David Asher, who directed Mike Pompeo’s investigation into Covid origins prior to Biden shutting down that investigation, disclosed that government biostatisticians calculated that the odds of SARS-CoV-2 evolving naturally were “one in 13 billion.”

Now, even Fauci is ducking and covering, given calls from the scientific community for an investigation. Asked if he remained convinced that COVID-19 developed naturally, which previously he vigorously defended, he admits, “No, actually. I am not convinced about that. I think we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we continue to find out — to the best of our ability — what happened. … So, you know, that’s the reason why I said I’m perfectly in favor of any investigation that looks into the origin of the virus.” Bull pucky.

This would be the same Anthony Fauci who we now know approved funding for Wuhan Institute of Virology research into deadly gain-of-function experiments in 2014. Fauci dismissed concerns about this funding, saying, “The Wuhan lab is a very large lab, to the tune of hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars — the grant that we’re talking about was $600,000 over five years.” The question is not “how much” he authorized, the question is why did Fauci authorize a dime for such research.

That revelation led to an excoriating WaPo op-ed in 2019 from Tom Inglesby of Johns Hopkins University and Marc Lipsitch of Harvard. They protested: “We have serious doubts about whether these experiments should be conducted at all. … With deliberations kept behind closed doors, none of us will have the opportunity to understand how the government arrived at these decisions or to judge the rigor and integrity of that process.”

As I have asserted, Trump should have fired Fauci](https://patriotpost.us/tags/Anthony%20Fauci) in April of 2020, when it was determined he had publicly lied about the efficacy of wearing masks. Since that time, he has flip-flopped like a beached flounder on numerous other “Fauci Facts.” Clearly, this 80-year-old lifelong DC bureaucrat, having been in the bowels of various federal agencies since 1968 and now the highest paid of all government bureaucrats at almost $420,000 per year, has long past his cognitive expiration date, and keeping him on proved to be a “Faucian bargain” that in no small measure contributed to Trump’s election loss last November – especially given Fauci’s mandates were used as justification for the Democrat’s bulk-mail balloting fraud.

As for whether Biden would ever fire Fauci, When asked if she could “imagine any circumstance where President Biden would ever fire” Fauci, Biden spokesperson Jen Psaki flatly replied, “No.”

In June, there was a BIG hole blown in the wet-market claims: An Oxford University study has determined there were no bats being sold at the Wuhan wet market.

According to the researchers: “Working with our colleagues based at China West Normal University, Nanchong, and Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Wuhan, Xiao Xiao and Zhao-Min Zhou on the ground in China, the WildCRU team had been gathering data collected from across Wuhan’s wet markets through May 2017 and November 2019. … Our investigation, published today in Nature-Scientific Reports, found that both bats and pangolins had an alibi – neither was there! Bats are actually rarely consumed in Central China. Pangolin trade is still a significant issue in other Chinese cities and trading nodes, but not in Wuhan.”

And beyond the growing consensus that the ChiCom Virus pandemic originated in the Wuhan Institute’s P4 lab, the next logical outlying question is: Was the ChiCom suppression of the release a strategic decision to wreak havoc on the economies of its global competitors — principally the U.S. — or worse, was the release intentional?

Venerable journalist Brit Hume cautiously teased that question recently: “[The Wuhan lab source] becomes undeniable, and more clear than ever, but this is a rogue state. This is an outlaw state. This is not a ‘member of the international community.’ … This is a nation which will suppress the truth, maybe wipe out people in their own ranks who try to tell the truth. … So far as we know the Chinese did not [deliberately release the virus] but it hasn’t been disproven, and given the way China acts I don’t believe you can completely rule it out.”

You can’t rule it out … which resonates back to Trump’s remarks in April of last year: “…whether they made a mistake or whether it started off as a mistake and then they made another one. Or did somebody do something on purpose?”

The key question regarding the circumstances of the viral release and the cover-up is this: Who had most to gain by brining the economies of the free world to a grinding halt? In his outstanding book, “Hundred Year Marathon,” foreign policy strategist Michael Pillsbury, PhD, notes that in 1950, China’s brutal communist dictator Mao Zedong formulated a plan to dominate the world economy in 100 years – by 2050. Xi Jinping may have taken 20-25 years off that target date with the ChiCom Virus.

So, will there be a global repudiation of China when the dust settles on the graves and economies of the free world? Maybe, but it won’t be led by ChiCom Joe.

Biden actually shut down the virus origin investigation launched by Mike Pompeo and, laughably, after restoring the World Health Organization’s U.S. funding, then called on the corrupt ChiCom-pandering WHO to conduct an investigation. However, as the media tide is now turning on the origin question, Biden has called for his own redundant 90-day intel review on what has already been reviewed, hoping he can spin those findings to ensure he doesn’t have to act presidential.

Unlike Trump, Biden does not have the stones to take on Red China — a nation that is our most dangerous geopolitical adversary and thus, the most significant existential threat to American Liberty. With their COVID-19 cover-up, the ChiComs succeeded not only in devastating our economy to their advantage but in determining how the U.S. will respond to the next virus it releases.

However, when asked about recourse, Tom Cotton offered a few immediate actions: “We could take away their most favored nation trading status, one of the things they covet most. We could revoke their status at the World Bank from which they get special loans. We could take away all the visas of Chines communist party officials, and their children, who they love to send to American schools.”

In the final analysis, it will likely be determined that China’s P4 lab was the source of the ChiCom Virus, and we owe a priceless debt of gratitude to three individuals for advance warning and charting a path out of the pandemic. No, Joe Biden is not one of them.

First would be a heroic Wuhan whistleblower, Dr. Li Wenliang. Li, as you recall, died of the virus (according to Red Chinese officials), but not before boldly ringing the alarm about COVID-19 when the ChiComs were still concealing the outbreak.

Second would be the aforementioned Sen. Tom Cotton, who stood firm and largely alone in exposing Xi Jinping’s cover-up. Cotton is owed an apology for Democrat and media accusations that he was propagating a fringe conspiracy theory regarding the virus origins. He will never get that apology, but he has been thoroughly vindicated.

For his part, Sen. Cotton said this week, “I have a sense of relief that we are finally going to try to find the true origins of this virus and I think all the evidence points towards the lab in Wuhan.”

And finally, we owe a debt of gratitude to Donald Trump for his early leadership to stop the spread of this unprecedented pandemic, as well as his leadership in the development of a vaccine in record time. Both achievements meant far fewer deaths than would otherwise have occurred, despite the fact that the current White House occupant, President Post Turtle, is claiming full credit.
