Biden Bows to the Pressure
Having felt the heat from his scheming fellow Democrats, our cognitively unfit president finally called it quits.
Early Sunday afternoon, President Big Guy fulfilled a prediction that our Mark Alexander made nearly 22 months ago: Joe Biden would not be the Democrat nominee for president.
Amid his atrocious poll numbers, his ever-advancing decrepitude, and the growing chorus of Democrats calling for him to “do the right thing,” the Worst President in American History™ finally threw in the cards.
But rather than addressing the American people from the Oval Office, Biden’s handlers instead opted for the sterility of social media. In a one-page letter posted to X, Biden began by — what else? — trumpeting his own “accomplishments” in office:
Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We’ve made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans. We’ve provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.
Biden’s claim that our nation “has never been better positioned to lead than we are today” just doesn’t pass the giggle test. Were that really the case, he wouldn’t be polling at 38% approval, and his fellow Democrats wouldn’t have so publicly and unceremoniously kicked him to the curb.
Biden went on to praise the dozens of Americans who’ve stuck with him through thin and thinner, while humblebragging about his heroic leadership: “I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We’ve protected and preserved our Democracy. And we’ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.”
Finally, mercifully, he got down to business:
And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
Let’s think about the tail end of that sentence. Earlier this year, we learned from Special Counsel Robert Hur that Joe Biden isn’t mentally fit to stand trial. And now, by dropping out, he’s admitting that he’s not mentally fit to serve for another four years. And yet he’s still going to serve out the six months remaining in his term?
On what planet is that a defensible decision? If ever there existed a condition for invoking the 25th Amendment, this would be it. If congressional Republicans don’t beat that drum incessantly between now and January 20, they don’t deserve to govern.
Soon after his announcement, Biden dutifully endorsed his incompetent veep, Kamala Harris, who is perhaps the only pol in America less popular than he is.
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
In a choreographed response, Harris said, “I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party — and unite our nation — to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda. If you’re with me, add a donation right now.”
The money-grubbing there at the end is significant, because Democrat fundraising has dried up considerably since Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance and his subsequent failure to right the ship and reassure big-money Democrat donors.
Given the difficulty that the Identity Party would have in shoving aside the first woman of color in order to nominate a white guy like Gavin Newsom or a white woman like Gretchen Whitmer, the Democrats appear to have accepted their fate: It was always going to be either Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. Joe Biden made sure of that when he chose The Cackler as his running mate.
This sounds like great news for Donald Trump and his fellow Republicans, and it likely is. Rehabilitating someone as woefully unpopular and demonstrably incompetent as Kamala Harris is a daunting prospect. However, we should remember who we’re up against, and we should heed the warning that conservative columnist Larry Elder issued recently: “If Harris becomes their nominee, the Trump-hating media will transform her into a combination of Joan of Arc and Rosa Parks.”
Indeed, our Mark Alexander echoes these sentiments: “The Republicans do NOT have the presidency in the bag, as so many in conservative echo chambers are predicting. Biden/Harris was the most eminently defeatable ticket. Trump’s prospects just got more difficult. I can assure you that when the DNC decided who Biden’s replacement was going to be, which I estimate was determined six or eight months ago (assuming now that will be Harris), they calculated, first and foremost, that taking the age concern out of the Demo side of the ticket would create a far more difficult path for Trump. I believe the electoral uphill slog for Trump just got more difficult. I hope I am proved wrong.”
As for the former president, who just recently survived an assassination attempt, he responded to the news that Joe Biden was quitting the race, running away from the rematch, with typical Trumpian understatement:
Crooked Joe Biden is the Worst President, by far, in the History of our Nation. He has done everything possible to destroy our Country, from our Southern Border, to Energy Dominance, National Security, International Standing, and so much more. He was annihilated in an Earth Shattering Debate, and now the Corrupt and Radical Democrats are throwing him overboard. He was not fit to serve from the very beginning, but the people around him lied to America about his Complete and Total Mental, Physical, and Cognitive Demise. Whoever the Left puts up now will just be more of the same. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
We, too, would love to Make America Great Again, but there’s still a great battle to be won. The Democrats, by virtue of their bootlickers in the mainstream media, have a built-in advantage every presidential election cycle. But, as Joe Biden himself is fond of saying, “There is nothing America can’t do, when we do it together.”
Indeed, that includes voting these people out of office, regardless of who their nominee is.
Remember: The problem with the Democrats isn’t just their decrepit president; it’s also their awful policies, which we can be certain will be endorsed and carried on by Kamala Harris or whomever ultimately replaces Joe Biden.
