Kamala’s ‘Trans’-gressive and Anti-Woman Problem
Because the Rainbow Mafia has trained its guns on our children, it has broken up part of the LGBTQ+ coalition.
Although we are still far from getting universally straight policy from Vice President Kamala Harris — she’d rather you elect her first to find out what she’s for and against — her position on transgenderism is clear.
Harris tries to paint transgenderism as an expression of freedom. However, she’s simultaneously failing to read the turning tide of opinion. Most Americans don’t agree with transgenderism and would like for women’s spaces and sports to stop being invaded and for our children to stop being indoctrinated.
In a speech on the subject in June 2023, Harris lamented that children couldn’t “receive healthcare,” which is a euphemism for being shot up with cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers as well as gender-mutilation surgeries. She trotted out the line about “book bans” — you know, not putting gay porn in front of students — and also bemoaned the fact that some states want to prosecute medical providers who mutilate children without their parents’ consent. Furthermore, she labeled those who disagree with her position of transing the kids as “extremist.”
Like most of her previous policy statements, Harris is the extreme one. And because the Rainbow Mafia has set its sights on our children, it has broken up part of the LGBTQ+ coalition. The existence of the activist group Gays Against Groomers is a case in point.
The fissures on this issue have been widening for a few years, which our Douglas Andrews addressed last year. As Spectator columnist Bridget Phetasy pointed out at the time, “Generally speaking, it’s ‘the Ts and the Qs’ that insist it’s all or nothing. Trans activists demand acquiescence to all their demands no matter how insane and pseudo-scientific, push to allow men in women’s shelters and allow kids to be put on puberty hormones or you’re committing genocide. People are increasingly saying, ‘OK — it’s nothing then.’”
And the polls are increasingly backing that up.
Citing Rasmussen, Just the News relays the following stats about where the American people stand on the transgenderism issue:
62% believe it should be illegal to “provide children under 18 with puberty blockers, drugs, and/or surgery to help them transition from one gender to another.”
72% oppose allowing biological males into women’s sports
71% oppose allowing biological males into women’s bathrooms, locker rooms and showers
67% strongly or somewhat oppose new Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guidance that companies should allow employees to use bathrooms and locker rooms of their choice.
81% oppose firing a worker who does not use the pronoun “her” to describe a biological male identifying as a female.
All the desires of the trans activists represent a 70-30 issue for voters (and the only reason it’s not more skewed is the Left’s campaign of intimidation and shame). Americans don’t like seeing male boxers beating up females at the Olympics, they don’t like our kids being attacked, and they don’t like the authoritarian pronoun police.
Like abortion, Harris is pretty clear on transgenderism policy. She’s against protecting women and children because, after all, transgenderism represents “freedom.” It may also represent a uniting factor against her. Time will tell.
