Iran and the Democrats Make Common Cause
Someone has to say it: They both want Donald Trump dead.
If only Crooks had sighted just a smidge to the right.
It’s a sickening thought, and neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris would dare utter it publicly. But you can be certain the thought has crossed their minds. Same with FBI Director Chris Wray and Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe, both of whom will be out of a job if Donald Trump wins a second term on November 5. Same with untold thousands of deep-staters and career Beltway bureaucrats whose cushy gigs will come to an end if a majority of the American people realize, before the Harris campaign runs out the clock, what an unmitigated disaster she would be as president.
Yesterday, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, talentless Whoopi Goldberg, and decrepit Joe Biden all came out and said what the rest of Democrat Washington has been thinking: “Let’s extinguish him for good.” Let’s squash him like a bug.
Despite two recent attempts on President Trump’s life, so far today:

This eliminationist rhetoric is sick stuff, but it’s standard fare for Democrats. Never forget: Political violence comes almost exclusively from the Left. It’s in their DNA.
Think about it: In the wake of the first assassination attempt, Trump was seen by the media and among Democrats as a mostly sympathetic figure. After the second attempt, though, these same people were blaming the victim. And now that the Iranian government has made clear its desire to assassinate Trump, the Democrats are letting out a collective yawn. And they’re refusing to protect him.
Missouri Republican Senator Josh Hawley shared some remarkable information on Fox News earlier this week: “The Secret Service,” he said, “recently told the Trump campaign they could not secure a rally for Donald Trump in the state of Wisconsin. I am told by a whistleblower with direct knowledge of the situation that Secret Service said that Trump should not and could not have a rally in Wisconsin because they could not protect him and adequately staff it.”
Wisconsin, of course, is a crucial swing state. And the unmistakable message from the shockingly incompetent Biden-Harris Secret Service is: That’s a nice presidential candidate you’ve got there. It’d be a shame if something happened to him.
Hey, if we can’t beat him, let’s assassinate him. That was certainly the thinking of the second would-be Trump assassin, Ryan Routh.
Is anyone surprised, then, that Democrat-dominated Washington has made common cause with the Iranian regime? Both are terrified of Trump’s return. For the past four years, the Democrats have had their way. At the same time, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism has also had its way. The Iranians have been rolling in cash, making global mayhem, and speeding toward a nuke. And the mullahs would love nothing more than four more years of the same.
Unlike the Democrats, though, the Iranians have the courage of their convictions. Which is why, as Fox News reports, Trump was briefed Tuesday about “real and specific threats” from Iran to assassinate him.
Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung says Trump was briefed by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and that Iran’s goal is to “destabilize and sow chaos in the United States.” That would do it alright. Cheung added, “Intelligence officials have identified that these continued and coordinated attacks have heightened in the past few months, and law enforcement officials across all agencies are working to ensure President Trump is protected and the election is free from interference.”
South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called the Iranian plot “an act of war.” And he’s right. So where’s the outrage from the Biden-Harris administration?
We have no doubt that the Iranians are moving with a sense of urgency, but what evidence do we have that the Biden-Harris Secret Service or the Biden-Harris FBI are doing the same? None. None at all.
Through it all, though, Donald Trump remains undaunted. At a campaign event yesterday in North Carolina, he said, “No threat will shake me, no enemy will intimidate me, and I have … [audience cheers] … I have never been more determined than I am today, and I will never back down in my fight to make America great again.”

Later, Trump added, “If I were the president, I would inform the threatening country, in this case, Iran, that if you do anything to harm this person, we are going to blow your largest cities and the country itself to smithereens. We’re gonna blow it to smithereens.”
Donald Trump is not the president, though. And the silence from our current commander-in-chief and his second-in-command is both telling and disgraceful.
If you’re not yet praying for the former president’s safety, now would be a good time to start.
POSTSCRIPT: If you doubt the Left’s propensity for political violence, consider that a recent poll found 28% of Democrats believe America would be better off if Donald Trump had been assassinated. Another 24% weren’t sure. Perhaps even more tellingly, 51% of them oppose any increase to Trump’s security detail — even though he’s narrowly escaped assassination twice.
