Re: Trump v. Roberts: The Case Against Judicial Supremacy
“Article II of the Constitution states that the president shall be the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. Article I, Section 8 grants Congress the power to set the standards for the discipline and training for the militia. There is no mention in Article III of federal district courts having jurisdiction over questions of military standards and policy. Congress set up a separate court system for the military in the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Judge LGBT has no jurisdiction; the question of ‘Section 8’ people in the military is between the president and Congress.” —Minnesota
Re: Romania Previews Democrat Desires
“It is unfortunate that Romania has not learned its lesson after citizens had enough of despotic Nicolae Ceausescu, communist leader of the Romanian Communist Party, and his wife, Elena. They were executed by firing squad in the Romanian Revolution by those taking part in a series of anti-communist uprisings in Eastern Europe in 1989. Whoever is in control of Romania at this time could have an ‘event’ if Romanian citizens get fed up enough. People do have the power to change their government, but a large number must be involved in voicing their objection to unlawful and contrived election processes — and they must do so LOUDLY and firmly!” —Florida
Re: Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Drama Recap
“She first slammed the 1937 film by saying, ‘I just mean that it’s no longer 1937…’”
“In 1845, a physician wrote a book, Der Struwwelpeter, for his three-year-old son with 10 ‘funny’ stories, each leading to a moral precept. The book was later published with illustrations. The ‘funny’ stories include a girl playing with matches who, as a result, burns to death, and a thumb-sucking boy who has his thumb cut off with a pair of scissors. Funny? You had to be there. If Disney did a remake of ‘Agony and Ecstasy,’ it would star Dylan Mulvaney, and the sistine chapel would have a picture of dogs playing poker, because it’s no longer the 1500s.” —New Hampshire
Re: Who Is Volodymyr Zelensky?
“Excellent article. What also needs to be noted is the agreement that had Ukraine give up its nuclear weapons in exchange for defending its borders; that was the deal. Now, Vladimir Putin keeps talking about NATO borders moving closer. This only happens when Putin invades Ukraine and moves the borders closer. Putin dreams about restoring the old Soviet Union. One should believe his evil motives. Let us hope we don’t have Munich 1938. We may make peace with Russia, but there is no reason to trade with them. Let the Russians trade with their dear friends in communist China and North Korea.” —California
“Agreed — Ukraine loses, no matter what happens. If Ukraine-in-NATO is off the table, the reality is that Putin will be back, deal or no deal. Perhaps that’s one reason Trump is backing away from the minerals deal. I mean, what’s the point if Russia ends up owning them anyway? Whatever Zelensky is or is not, he’s not a dictator. He wants (and needs) a long-term deal that guarantees his country continues to exist. But good luck trying to convince MAGA windups of that; they couldn’t care less if Ukraine burns to the ground.” —Oklahoma
Re: The Agony of the Democrats
“The Democrats of today are DONE! They have moved so far left and become so corrupt that they are self-destructing. We know that politicians are all parasites to some degree. They all have lost their purpose. We end up choosing between bad or disastrous. Finally, we have a leader who is doing something in a positive direction. Although he’s not a perfect person, we should applaud his efforts because he doesn’t appear to be kicking the can down the road. Let the Democrats whine; Republicans stand united behind Trump.” —Illinois
“When I was six, my father would tell me to do something, and when I asked why, he would respond, ‘Because I told you to.’ I reluctantly did what I was told. Well, I’m not six anymore, and I have learned a lot about the things that need to get done. The Democrats seem to keep trying to say, ‘Because I told you to,’ but then do all kinds of things behind the curtain. I am so grateful for the information that is being revealed by DOGE because none of the things being said made any sense … but now they do. I also was told that the world doesn’t owe you anything; if you want something, go out and earn it. Unfortunately, Democrats have not gotten the message. Patriots have earned what they have and only choose to share voluntarily.” —Wisconsin
