In recent weeks, the mainstream media has been all over the story as a steady stream of Joe Biden’s handlers, including his “doctor,” have taken the Fifth rather than disclosing to congressional Republicans what they knew and when they knew it.

Yet yesterday, Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, decided not to take the Fifth and instead spoke candidly and at length to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee about the mental fitness of the Autopen President. And yet almost no one covered it.

Weird, huh?

Why, it’s almost as if the mainstream media just wishes Biden’s four disastrous years in office could be shoved down the memory hole, never to be spoken of again.

It’s understandable that the legacy media doesn’t want to talk about Biden anymore. After all, to the extent that there’s been any talk about him at all in recent days, it’s been centered on how mentally unfit he was for the presidency. Thus, any deep dive into that topic will naturally expose the media’s years-long complicity in covering it up. So, yeah, it’s understandable. But not acceptable.

With the possible exception of Barack Obama, Ron Klain, more than anyone else outside of Biden’s immediate family, is responsible for our nation’s four-year-long Weekend at Bernie’s presidency. The chief of staff is not only the president’s confidant but his scheduling gatekeeper. So, anyone who wanted to get to Joe Biden had to go through Ron Klain first.

Indeed, on Fox News this morning, host Brian Kilmeade said that former West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin credited Klain for Biden’s leftward shift while in office. (Recall that Biden was always a center-left Democrat before his handlers and his autopen started calling the shots.)

Like a rat leaving a doomed ship, and after more than three decades of serving Biden, Klain left the White House in 2023, but he came back last year to help the Big Guy with debate prep. He should’ve stayed away. After Biden’s spectacular debate implosion, Klain, who’d been watching things back in the holding room, reportedly stood up and muttered, “We’re f***ed.”

In the annals of American politics, no truer words have ever been spoken.

Which brings us to Klain’s closed-door testimony yesterday, during which both committee Republicans and Democrats described him as forthcoming. Committee Chairman James Comer said Klain was “fairly responsive” to their questions, and fellow Republican Andy Biggs said, “I think he is telling what he knows accurately. He’s trying to be accurate.”

Meanwhile, California Democrat Ro Khanna said, “I found Mr. Klain to be very credible. He answered every single question. He was fully cooperative.”

Of course, it’s possible to be both “accurate” and “fully cooperative” but also effectively evasive. Klain is sentient, after all, and every sentient being who spent more than 30 seconds with Biden in recent years knows he wasn’t fit for the toughest job in the world. Perhaps we can glean something of this in Klain’s quick skedaddle after the session, during which he ignored the questions of the reporters who deigned to cover the hearing.

Interestingly, Klain reportedly said that he was contacted by both National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and perennial presidential aspirant and also-ran Hillary Clinton during Biden’s final year in office. Both of them apparently said Biden wasn’t — here’s a Swamp-dweller’s euphemism for ya — “politically viable.”

They’re telling us. As Comer also added, “Evidence emerges on a daily basis that would suggest Joe Biden wasn’t mentally fit to be president.”

During the session, Klain apparently wouldn’t budge when asked whether Biden was too old or intellectually infirm to run the country, saying only that Biden “was ‘less energetic,’ had a poorer memory and frequently mixed up names.”

Again, anyone who paid attention — or read The Patriot Post on occasion — during the past four years could’ve told us that. What we have here, then, is a former Biden insider who knew and saw what was happening to Joe Biden but doesn’t want to admit it.
