“The very idea that an American citizen should be impelled to ask the state for an ‘exemption’ to practice their faith is an assault on the fundamental idea of liberty.”

Re: The Demos’ Census Redistricting Strategy

“I did some research for Taleeb Starkes’s book Black Lies Matter and was absolutely stunned by what I found after Dems did redistricting. There would be a single block miles away from the rest of the district in multiple instances. It certainly woke me up to how redistricting works and how unfair it can be.” —Delaware

“Trump’s effort to include a citizenship question in the 2020 U.S. Census was blocked by SCOTUS. The 14th Amendment requires the ‘whole number of persons in each state’ to be counted. At present, there is no qualifier to distinguish between citizens and noncitizens in the reapportionment of House seats. Thus, Alexander is correct in asserting that counting noncitizens already skews the number of House seats and Electoral College votes in every state.” —Washington, DC

“As a retired veteran (Naval Aviator), I greatly appreciate The Patriot Post. Among the enormous costs Alexander mentioned regarding illegal aliens, don’t forget one we all bear in the form of increased insurance premiums for thousands of major accidents involving uninsured illegals. Oh, and there is the illegal alien truck driver with a California license who killed three Florida residents this week.” —Texas

Re: Democrat ‘Compassion’ Leads to Unemployment for Citizens

“Trump Derangement Syndrome explains much of the government’s inability or unwillingness to help its own citizens. But I would suggest another term for those government leaders who seek to immortalize themselves with massive displays of virtue signaling at no cost to themselves and high cost to those around them: Martha’s Vineyard Syndrome.” —New Hampshire

“The semantic games Denver’s mayor plays with reduction or elimination of work hours could have a purpose beyond political appearances. He may be trying to keep the city’s unemployment insurance premiums down by cheating the workers out of unemployment compensation. That would be adding insult to injury. Perhaps government employee unions should rethink their reflexive support of Democrat politicians.” —Minnesota

Re: Diplomaed and Non-Diplomaed Workers Now Equally Unemployed

“The best alternative for those graduating high school who don’t have scholarships or cash (not loans) to pay for college is to work a trade job and go to college part time or online. That way, when they move up the ladder to the higher-paying jobs, they will have the required sheepskin and/or the non-trade skills to get the job.” —Florida

Re: What About mRNA Vaccines?

“I beg to differ a bit. This was not just a ‘failure of communication’; it was straight-up an abuse of power to foist a largely untested (and ineffective) drug on people with a vast array of unintended consequences. They took away freedoms of choice, yes, but they also eroded not only public trust but one of society’s most precious commodities: its health.” —Oklahoma

“The COVID dilemma accomplished one thing for sure — a massive power grab and life-changing new order orchestrated by the government. Sure, COVID was deadly, but typically for only those most vulnerable. Something none of us knew until later on. In fact, new COVID research is coming out just about every week, yielding revelations that are making our heads spin! Yes, life-threatening situations are a great motivator for taking corrective action. But next time this kind of thing rears its ugly head — and don’t count out that possibility — many of us are going to take a calculated pause in order to seriously consider any new potential vaccine option. At this juncture, I am a ‘No thanks!’” —North Carolina

Re: A Wake-Up Call for Black Americans

“Excellent article, Patrick. The truth is that the eugenics movement is alive and well in the Democrat Party. Some things never change. As a percentage of the U.S. population, blacks have stayed at 12%-14% since 1900.” —New Jersey

Re: District Judge Demands Nuns Pay for Contraception

“I totally agree with you about the need to repeal ObamaCare. However, I disagree regarding the possibility. The ACA is a law passed by Congress. Thus, it only needs a simple majority in both houses and a presidential signature to make it go away. By the way, SCOTUS upheld it by calling it a tax. Therefore, action must come from the House first.” —Florida

“The very idea that an American citizen should be impelled to ask the state for an ‘exemption’ to practice their faith is an assault on the fundamental idea of liberty. Imagine having to ask the state for an exemption to exercise your free speech. This has been happening to gun owners seemingly nonstop. The writer is correct — the very idea that an American has to ask permission to exercise their constitutional rights is inconceivable in a Republic like ours. It’s a true threat to democracy, brought to you by Democrats.” —Pennsylvania

Re: Profiles of Valor: SSgt Johnny ‘Joey’ Jones (USMC)

“Joey is a stellar example of non sibi sed patriae (not for self, but for country), a motto I was imbued with when young, and a character trait that should be taught to all young people.” —Oregon

“Every time I see Joey in the media, he is always smiling and making jokes — except when it comes to our country. He is without a doubt a true patriot 100% of the time; he unconditionally loves our nation and will do anything for it. Joey is one of those brothers you want to be around all the time and emulate in your own life. Thank you for telling his story. And a special thanks to Joey for his service then and now to this country!” —California
