“Congress should not get paid during shutdowns, should not get back pay for keeping it closed, and probably should be penalized an extra day of pay for every day they don’t work for us.”

Re: Are You a ‘Christian Nationalist’?
“Given the Leftmedia’s constant condemnation of Christians, especially those with an opinion about culture and politics, this column provided great ammo for rebuttal. And here in California, we need all the ammo we can get!” —California
“The Left gets a lot of traction with name-calling, like ‘Christian Nationalism.’ The context for what underlies the leftist political agenda and their relentless effort to accumulate power is what we all need to understand. As Alexander noted, the biggest challenge to their agenda is the foundational principle in our Declaration that rights are ‘endowed by our Creator’ and not by politicians.” —New York
“The Left thinks ‘Christian Nationalist’ it is an insult. I wear that label as a badge of honor.” —Texas
“Rights endowed by our Creator, indeed. And that undermines the entire Democrat Platform, which is totally focused on expanding government power.” —Florida
Re: The Schumer Shutdown: Complete Chaos That Failed Miserably
“I recommend that a survey be sent to the Senate and the House with a mandatory response. Ask how long it took them to read the Affordable Care Act. Failure to respond should be grounds for alarm. As with Nancy Pelosi’s example, it is unlikely that they read it and are now therefore surprised at how dysfunctional it has become.” —Washington
“The Lord works in mysterious ways. It’s always His plan, not ours, and certainly not Chuck Schumer’s. Sayonara, Chuckie! But now the Republicans are going to have to face the far Left, and that should be very promising for the midterms because no one in their right mind would vote for a far-left socialist. That said, the Republicans can’t bask in any glory just yet.” —Washington
“We send our representatives to Washington to serve the people — something they seem to have forgotten. Why do they get paid while leaving Americans suffering because they aren’t doing their job? They should not get paid during shutdowns, should not get back pay for keeping it closed, and probably should be penalized an extra day of pay for every day they don’t work for us. What has been going on for the past few weeks is an abomination and a determent to the safety and well-being of the American taxpayer!” —Indiana
Re: If the Shutdown Was So Bad, Why Are Dems So Mad That It’s Over?
“Every Republican in Congress should have stood on the floor and exposed the truth about ObamaCare, because most people don’t know — just like most knew nothing about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Pelosi said they had to pass the bill so people would know what’s in it. Barack Obama lied when he said if that if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, and that your premiums would go down. Costs skyrocketed. There are too many ignorant people in this country.” —Minnesota
Re: The Constitution Doesn’t Grant Birthright Citizenship to Illegal Immigrants
“Native Americans were not American citizens before the 14th Amendment was ratified, and they still weren’t American citizens after it was ratified, despite all of them having been born within the boundaries of America. That is proof positive that the 14th Amendment did NOT grant citizenship to everyone born within the boundaries of America — a well-documented and easily verified fact.” —Arizona
“As a husband to a green card holder and sponsor to U4U immigrants, having paid thousands in fees and filings so we can take a number and wait, it’s particularly insulting to people like me that illegal invaders and half the country think we should give away the privilege of U.S. citizenship to those undeserving of it. My impression of the Roberts Court is that it’s a kick-the-can outfit, so my expectations aren’t that high. But I’m happy to be wrong.” —Oklahoma
“Birthright citizenship is up to Congress to address. They represent We the People in this process. The Supreme Court just upholds the laws. I don’t trust these lawyers in black robes.” —Wisconsin
Re: What Do You Do When Your Neighbors Want You Dead?
“Years ago, a boy on a little league team I coached was suspended from school for telling another boy he was going to kill him when they were roughhousing at recess. He wasn’t allowed back to school until he had a dangerousness evaluation and an okay from a psychologist. All told, it resulted in about nine days of missed school — and baseball! Everyone knows this is schoolyard trash talk, but not the school. Apparently, all this kid had to say was that he identified as a Democrat and he would have been left to go about his business without all the crap.” —Massachusetts
“Jack, as the father of two Marine veterans and the son of a Korean War-era veteran, I thank them, you, the 15 million or so other living veterans, and those who have since passed. Regardless of one’s politics or the extreme nature of political activity these days, we are all blessed to be Americans (though some do not recognize that). America would not be possible, our freedoms would not be possible, if it were not for those who served.” —Montana
