“Many times when I’ve been in a checkout line, the person in front pays for their groceries with their EBT card, then pulls $20 out of their pocket and buys lottery tickets.”

Re: Crooks Is Another Black Eye for the Bureau

“The truth of the matter is the Left would rather see us conservatives dead, period. Case in point: a person who put in writing that he would like to murder his conservative opposition, along with his children, was still elected AG of Virginia. We are in a battle, folks. Get your armor on.” —Texas

“Why is everyone surprised by the fact that the FBI either hid or neglected any electronic footprint made by the failed assassin? It lied about Hunter’s laptop. It let Hilary and her home-brew email server slide. Obama and Holder, via Operation Fast and Furious, were responsible for the death of a border officer. And we’re surprised? We got what was voted in.” —Nebraska

Re: Snapping Shut the Food Stamps Purse

“The goal should be to remove SNAP from the federal government and then make government food handouts unnecessary. The claim that reducing the amount spent on SNAP is ‘heartless’ is just wrong — it implies that the poor cannot escape poverty and must remain dependent on the government. It is far better to put the direct responsibility for helping the poor back on their neighbors, ‘the people’ in the Tenth Amendment. Then they would have the incentive to help the poor to become self-sufficient ASAP.” —Minnesota

Re: A New Ice Age?

“As long as convection works, there will be a warm water current flowing north near the surface of the Atlantic Ocean to replace cold water coming south near the bottom. The longitudinal positions of the currents may shift, and seasonal volume changes may vary from year to year, but the physics remains the same. For the current to go away, the ocean would have to be a uniform temperature from pole to pole.” —Minnesota

Re: The Catholic Bishops Weigh In

“As Tom Homan said, they should be more concerned about fixing issues in their own church than being a mouthpiece for the Democrats. The big question is this: Why did Biden and his cronies let all these illegals into our country? What was the game plan? Well, we see it plain as day now: to overload our schools, healthcare system, welfare system, etc., to the extent that they would never lose power again. Surprise! The American voters figured it out just in time.” —Texas

“As a devout Roman Catholic, I respectfully — and prayerfully — disagree with the Bishops. They seem to have ignored St. Paul’s letter to the Romans, where it’s written, ‘For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same.’ (‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:3‬, ‭NASB)‬‬ I will admit that the Trump administration is heavy-handed in its enforcement of immigration laws, but extreme situations will do that. Surely the Bishops are objecting to the way in which the laws are enforced, but not the fact.” —Pennsylvania

“The Catholic Bishops are certainly ready to jump in here. Where’s their admonition of wholesale abortion practices in the U.S.? I could have sworn there was something in the Church doctrines about the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. There are enough cherry-pickers in the media and politics; we certainly don’t need that from spiritual leaders.” —Wisconsin

“Amen. I hope the Bishops pointed out that this is an area where the laity has been given the grace to make discernments, and that there is no obligation of the laity to assume the Bishops’ opinions. Part of the problem is that the Bishops have largely encouraged immigrants to behave illegally. They have sinned by telling them that they don’t need to obey our laws. And rather than taking their own sin to Christ, they are doubling down by saying that the laws we have that safeguard our nation are wrong.” —California

Re: What Makes You Tick?

“People have suffered many personal wounds and church politics traumas because commitment to our Savior is by knowledge and not by soul-searching conviction. I fear the wailing and gnashing of teeth is going to be extremely loud when Jesus asks, ‘What have you done for me?’ Just going to church every time the doors are open does not make a follower more saved. It takes an experiential encounter with the Holy Spirit, the enabler, to bring people to where the rubber meets the road in this life.” —Florida
