“Comey deserves punishment. However, I agree that it should be about the Russia collusion hoax, not about an Instagram post.”

Re: Trump ‘Negotiates’ With Iran

“Sanctions and blockades might work in the long run, but it will take years, not weeks, for meaningful results. Tyrannical totalitarian regimes are not concerned with the plight of the populace. They are only concerned with maintaining power and control. The masses may go hungry and suffer deprivation, but the ruling tyrants will have their cake. We don’t know who is really in charge, the mullahs or the IRCG, which complicates the situation.” —California

“Iran’s glowering overwatch of the Strait of Hormuz has made some dream of a canal that would give ships an alternate route. The United Arab Emirates, which has announced it is leaving OPEC, has a pipeline that ships much of its oil production to the port city of Fujairah, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. Perhaps now would be a good time for Trump to announce a joint venture to improve the pipeline’s connection to the UAE’s port in Abu Dhabi on the west side.” —Georgia

Re: Trump DOJ Takes Wild Second Swing at Comey

“This is simply the chickens coming home to roost. Comey deserves punishment. However, I agree that it should be about the Russia collusion hoax, not about an Instagram post. This case has no teeth.” —Colorado

“Who knows, out of this could come the real charges to which he is guilty. And I think they should pursue the man until his guilt is found and he is put away. All of those who were part and party to the crap thrown at the president need to be held accountable. It needs to start somewhere, and it needs to end somewhere.” —Washington

“Every time Democrats should be punished, they manage to side step, as they are almost always going in front of a Democrat judge. Why does that happen? Someone should investigate and create a list.” —Arizona

Re: Hegseth More Than Holds His Own

“No mention of how much funding/equipment had been sent to Ukraine via the previous administration — billions that were never replaced. Of course, that was swept under the rug. In addition, no mention or accounting of the billions in equipment abandoned in Afghanistan in August 2021. Everything needing replacing raises the War Dept. budget until restocking has been completed. Once that’s done, the budget can be reduced back to ‘normal’ levels. Democrats have no problem sending millions to corrupt NGOs, mainly because a percentage of it comes back to their coffers, but buying bullets to defend our country is a big ‘ask.’” —Alabama

“More and more I am both ashamed of and astounded by the demonstrable ignorance and shortsightedness of many of my fellow Americans. Anyone who is more concerned about paying a temporarily higher price for gasoline than they are about allowing a proven terrorist nation to obtain nuclear weapons needs to take a serious hard look at their judgment and their patriotism.” —South Carolina

Re: Supreme Court Blocks Racially Segregated Gerrymandering

“Now it is time to stop counting illegals in the census. Blue states and cities fill up their localities with noncitizens to get more representation and money. Counting them is illegal. If they want to harbor illegals, then let them do it at their own expense.” —Wisconsin

Re: Feds Raid Somali Learing Centers

“Rock star! Whoever wrote this article was on fire and spot on. In the 1990s, Somali women told us they met with lawyers before coming to the U.S. to learn how to take advantage of our programs and use ‘discrimination’ when it benefits them. They hit the jackpot with Minnesota.” —Florida

Re: Newsom Uses Ads to (Not) Improve California’s Image

“It doesn’t matter how many layers of fresh paint you throw on a garbage can; it will still reek of rotting garbage until the inside is scrubbed clean. Democrats have had a supermajority or near-supermajority in California since 1970. That’s 56 years. It only took Castro 30 years to turn Cuba into a ‘Caribbean paradise’ where those who have have, and the rest are on their own.” —California

Re: Gratitude and Perspective With Ben Sasse

“This is a seriously correct statement. The idiotic political system that has emerged in this country over the last few decades is absurd. We are not black Americans or white Americans or brown or green or any other color ethnicity or religion. We are or should be Americans. Period. What’s good for the whole country is what we need. To be able to honor our elected officials because they were elected for and by the people, instead of debasing them for their actions, would be a huge turnaround for the people. How can you tell a politician is lying? Their lips are moving! Good old joke, but lately it’s becoming a standard practice.” —South Carolina
