Left’s Mantra: The Islamic State Is Neither
As Congress warms to the idea of authorizing military force against ISIL, a.k.a. Islamic State, the Left keeps on insisting the Islamic State is neither a state or Islamic because of political correctness. It’s turning into their mantra. When Jonathan Karl of ABC News asked Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the only Muslim in Congress, if he would support military action in Iraq and Syria, Ellison replied, “Before I say what I would vote for, I want to see the language first.” He went on, “[T]he Islamic State, whatever people want to call them, they’re neither Islamic or [sic] a state in my view, I think that they are a real threat and I think – but I think the real question is, getting the politics right, making sure that we stabilize Iraq by making sure that there’s an inclusive government in Baghdad.” Say, what’s the Left’s definition of “Caliphate?” More…
