The Church of Brown Family Torched During Riots

On Sunday, the father of Michael Brown was baptized at Flood Christian Church. On Monday night, the church was one of the dozen buildings burning during the riots in Ferguson after the grand jury announced officer Darren Wilson was not indicted in the killing of Michael Brown Sr.‘s son. The pastor of the church, Rev. Carlton Lee, said, “The police called me and told me the church was on fire. I was in complete disbelief. I didn’t think anyone would set a church on fire.” The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating the crime and Lee suspects white supremacists fueled the mayhem by torching the church. It’s an example of how some used the shooting of Brown to further anarchy and violence. Brown’s family advocated for a peaceful response to the decision, which was ignored. The lawyer for the Brown family, Benjamin Crump, told Fox News, “Nobody could be more frustrated than his mother and his father, but if they can exercise their constitutional rights in a peaceful way, everybody else should.
