Pentagon Sends More Boots to Iraq
The Pentagon announced it would send 1,300 more paratroopers to Iraq to “train, advise and assist Iraqi security forces,” according to Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby. The troops will deploy for nine months in the Anbar province to train 12 Iraqi brigades. In addition to these boots on the ground, the U.S. will continue to fly bombing runs against ISIL to support Iraqi troops. “Where will this lead?” asks RedState. “Barring a deus ex machina that eliminates [ISIL] and restores some semblance of what passes for stability in the Arab world our involvement is going to increase and the next president will be left with an ugly mess in Iraq and Syria that is totally the creation of Barack Obama.” Obama only created a false peace when he pulled out of Iraq.
