Government Raises Stakes in War Against Red Meat
The new guidelines coming from the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee recommends six servings of grain, eggs and a side of climate change propaganda. This week, the government has found the optimal diet for your health and the earth: go vegan. The committee’s report said, “Consistent evidence indicates that, in general, a dietary pattern that is higher in plant-based foods, such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds, and lower in animal-based foods is more health promoting and is associated with lesser environmental impact than is the current average U.S. diet.” The report will be shuttled off to the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health and Human Services where they are expected to approve the diet changes. While the government’s ideal diet is only recommended, it does affect what is slopped on school lunch trays and how food is labeled. So put down that bacon-wrapped steak and go nibble on some tofu and sunflower seeds, now that we have not only ObamaCare to dictate our health (since the government is paying for it), but climate change to dictate what we eat.
