Late last summer, disgraced former Virginia Governor Robert McDonnell was undone by his own corruption. The Leftmedia followed the case closely, reporting on every word, every blink, every tear of the trial. In their minds, it was the ultimate story of partisan corruption. Now, will they treat one of their own with the same level of disposition? CNN broke news Friday that “[t]he Justice Department is preparing to bring criminal corruption charges against New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, alleging he used his Senate office to push the business interests of a Democratic donor and friend in exchange for gifts. People briefed on the case say Attorney General Eric Holder has signed off on prosecutors’ request to proceed with charges.” A formal announcement is expected soon. Politicians on both sides of aisle, of course, are susceptible to greed. But there is a striking disparity concerning which party gets publicly chastised. It will also be interesting to see how this unfolds as Holder prepares to step down from the Justice Department. More…
