Re: “Putin Is Feeling It on Multiple Fronts

“I say the rest of the civilized world should go ahead and squeeze Putin without compunction. Today’s world makes it much harder to remain ignorant and uninformed. The Russian people know what the Russian military is being compelled to do. They know that with as much as they will suffer from the squeeze, it is exclusively targeted at Putin and his oligarchs. Hence, it’s unlikely that if Putin leaves or is removed, the Russians will replace him with an anti-West demagogue. With sanctions, Russia isn’t being physically assaulted and invaded, as is Ukraine, so Russians are more likely to make amends for Putin’s crimes and then embrace capitalism and economic growth instead of exacting revenge.” —Illinois

“Putin has done more to unify the West than anyone over the last twenty years. An example: Switzerland is famous for two things, political neutrality and banks. And yet now it’s cut Russia off from its banking system and is shipping weapons to Ukraine.” —Georgia

Re: “Energy Fallout From Russia’s Invasion

“The enemies of liberty must prohibit the U.S. from becoming energy independent. Laws limiting fossil fuels intend to weaken the U.S. and our allies and strengthen our enemies. Social media platforms are colluding to prohibit, pervert, and mock any idea contrary to the thesis that ‘fossil fuels are deadly’ while promoting far more expensive and far less reliable alternative energy sources. Liberty’s enemies will not become dependent on alternative energy. They won’t convert their military forces to depend on solar, wind, and battery power. They will use fossil fuels to beat the U.S. economically and then politically. Freedom is not, has never been, nor ever will be free.” —Missouri

Re: “Ukrainians Underscore the Wisdom of the Second Amendment

“While I completely agree that the Second Amendment would be a huge obstacle for any foreign power attempting to invade the U.S., I would suggest that a large part of Russia’s difficulty with Ukraine is more likely its woeful leadership, training, and discipline. The Russian army was lied to before the invasion (this breaks down morale and motivation), they had very poor logistical plans to get supplies moved around where they needed them, and their air power has been surprisingly weak. It seems to me that a better trained, better led, and better motivated army with a decent plan would have had a lot more success by now. It makes me wonder: Would the ChiComs have done a better job with any invasions?” —Texas

Re: “Fact-Check: Biden’s Big SOTU Obfuscations and Lies

“I understand why Biden can be criticized for saying, ‘Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he’ll never gain the hearts and souls of the IRANIAN people.’ That verbal flub is another of many, indicating that perhaps Biden’s age is leaving him incapable of being president. But aside from the flub, it’s the content of what he was saying that’s so egregious. I’m sorry, but the ‘hearts and souls’ of the Ukrainian people won’t do them much good if they’re either wiped out by Putin’s tanks or subjugated by Russian oppressors. Ukrainian lives mean something, just as ours do, yet Biden seems to think Ukrainian lives aren’t worth much (like his promises) and that their ‘hearts and souls’ are good enough.” —Illinois

Re: “Barr Torches Trump

“Barr is trying to sell his book. Before the 2020 election, Biden could not fill a phone booth with supporters. With the help of ‘harvesting,’ he was able to garner more of the electorate than Obama did. How did that happen? Trump is not really a politician. That bothers Barr and a lot of The Swamp and a lot of America. We want a man of the people, but then we want a man who acts like a politician? Sorry! I like Trump, even with his flaws. NO president has not had flaws.” —Nevada

“I know Donald Trump personally. I actually did business with him directly in the mid-1970s. He was one of the very few New York real estate mavens with whom I could do business on a handshake. He never operated with a hidden agenda. His word was his bond and he talked straight, no matter how difficult the subject. It was a pleasure working with him. The Barr-Trump feud looks like a clash of egos. But, no matter how Barr cuts it, he wrote a book to make money by Trump-bashing. The application of my graduate school statistics class and an analysis of the election told me that Trump got screwed by the treachery of the Democrat Marxists. Trump’s only sin: to love the American people, no matter how he said it. Miss him yet?” —Massachusetts

“Is there anyone Trump listens to? If so, I wish they would tell him to stop beating the 2020 election drum and move forward. What is done is done. I give high marks for doing his job as president and doing what was/is best for the country; an A+ on job performance unlike any other; and a D for injecting himself in all manner of things with his objectionable comments and tweets when he should have remained silent, dignified, and presidential. He is his own worse enemy.” —Washington

“I agree 100%. I love Trump’s policy, but he has turned off so many people who otherwise might vote for him because they hate him. Also, I agree that a younger person like Mike Pompeo or Ron DeSantis could do a similar job and easily give us two terms starting in 2024.” —California
