Re: “Nord Stream Sabotage: Who Done It?

The three pipelines blown up are Russia’s major money train into Europe. Logically, I cannot see any reason the Russian government would destroy a source of income, a source it had total control over. Always follow the money and who gains by this development: the U.S. and Ukraine; no one else. All Russia had to do was close the valves and give a reason to cut it off. Ukraine by itself does not have the capacity to carry out such an act alone. The U.S. had warships in the area a few days earlier. —Louisiana

The Russians had every incentive to keep the pipelines operational. It provided leverage over the EU and the hope of splitting NATO as winter comes. Biden has made a few honest statements in his dishonest life. One was when he said, “We have put together, I think, the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.” That came true in 2020. Another was when he threatened Russia’s pipeline. Speaking at a news conference with Chancellor Scholz, he said: “If Russia invades … again, then there will be longer Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.” That came true last week. —Ohio

Re: “DeSantis Warns Looters While Harris Comforts Them

These comments leave no doubt that Harris must be removed from office and soon. Her words are not only offensive but dangerous. As the article said, the comments caused undue panic within Florida. Imagine that a VP not protected by the lapdog media said, “Aid and resources will be given on the basis of income tax paid.” All the media would be set on fire from their rage. The talking heads would be caterwauling 24/7 for months if not years. But with the exception of a few outlets, Harris’s comments never hit the airwaves. —Arizona

Re: “Supreme Court Legitimacy, Alito Style

I finally got around to reading the entire Dobbs opinion over this past rainy weekend. The Dobbs dissent was so aggravating that frankly I stopped halfway, not able stand it any longer. The sarcasm drips from the pens of the dissenters. The language is parsed, the arguments thin, the backbiting demeaning, and the verbiage is not in keeping with that high office. It was frankly “sophomoronic.” Perhaps the dissenting justices can contemplate this wisdom articulated to us as sophomores: It is better to hold your tongue and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. —Maryland

Re: “COVID Vaccine Does Mess With Women’s Health

The medical profession never has been terribly concerned about female complaints as a rule since you know how hysterical we all get at “that time of the month.” Since I’m postmenopausal (thank God) and wouldn’t have gotten the vaccine on a bet, I don’t have to worry about this, but I feel sorry for the women who are suffering the side effects. I was working for an ob/gyn during the pandemic and was frankly surprised at the number of patients who had not gotten the shot and weren’t planning to. It may have been a coincidence, but the doctor had a lot of common sense and I think gave tacit approval to the women who said they were afraid to get it. —Pennsylvania

Re: “Fauci Cashed in on the Pandemic

Throughout the COVID pandemic, I never heard Fauci (not that I listened to every utterance) cite a single study or legitimate scientific source. The suggested benefits and/or risks of medicines were not discussed. The relative efficacy of vaccines to treat the original variant, let alone subsequent variants; the rate of mutation to new variants; and the decreasing lethality of these variants were not discussed. The reason for doing “gain of function” research in China was never discussed. All he ever said was “Wear your mask, get endless shots, and stay home.” When he retires, they can hire a parrot to replace him. —New Hampshire

Re: “‘Trans’ Army Officer Indicted for Spying

As a veteran, I cannot find the words to express my contempt for these two individuals, not to mention the powers that be who allowed them into positions with access to sensitive and classified information. Collectively, they should ALL be in the same cell block in Leavenworth for the crime of trading national security for political correctness. I retired 18 years ago. Those I was responsible for training and mentoring were ready and able to become the next generation of leaders. I can only imagine what any of them still on active duty must think of how far into the sewer things have slid. —Virginia

Re: “Why Did ‘Dilbert’ Get Pink-Slipped by Dozens of Newspapers?

The very sad truth is that “Seinfeld” probably would not even get an audience today. Whatever happened to an American’s ability to laugh at himself, his true sense of humor? My “handle” as a Navy aviator was “Plumber” for some very good reasons, but it created some great laughs. —Massachusetts

Re: “Joe Biden’s Very Costly Presidency

If ANY conservative candidate runs on anything but “It’s the economy stupid,” he or she is a dolt and should be swept aside for candidates who get it. Frankly, many of the Republican candidates leave a bad taste, but anyone who stands in front of us and says “It’s all OK” needs a one-way ticket back to from whence they came. Trump may have been distasteful to many, but the Biden administration’s performance across the board has been abysmal at best. —Colorado

Re: “Ken Burns Revises Holocaust History

Roosevelt was a master politician when it came to condemning Lindbergh and the America First movement. He could point to his position to burnish his reputation with the Jewish community without having to do anything concrete to help them before and during the Holocaust. PBS has never tried to present an objective picture of the Arab-Israeli conflict and seems to have carried it over to carefully edited history also. —Kentucky
