Biden IRS Retaliates Against Hunter Whistleblower
At the behest of the Biden DOJ, the Biden IRS removed an investigator’s whole team from Hunter’s tax case.
Barack Obama infamously weaponized the IRS against conservatives to help his reelection bid in 2012. When it comes to using the IRS to track down possible wrongdoing by Hunter and Joe Biden, however, the only one thwarted is the IRS whistleblower.
Last month, an IRS whistleblower came forward to House Republicans with information about “preferential treatment” for a certain person, as well as details that “contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee.” Though the whistleblower didn’t name that certain person, House Republicans believe it is Hunter Biden, and the issue pertains to what he has publicly admitted is a tax fraud probe. He borrowed $2 million last year to pay his overdue tax bill.
As veteran journalist John Solomon reported at the time, “The agent has provided evidence that at least two Biden DOJ political appointees in U.S. attorneys’ offices have declined to seek a tax indictment against Hunter Biden despite career investigators’ recommendations to do so and the blessing of career prosecutors in the DOJ tax division.”
The whistleblower’s attorneys wrote to Congress on Monday with the latest development: “The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Supervisory Special Agent we represent was informed that he and his entire investigative team are being removed from the ongoing and sensitive investigation of the high-profile, controversial subject about which our client sought to make whistleblower disclosures to Congress. He was informed the change was at the request of the Department of Justice.”
IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel promised the House Committee on Ways and Means in April “without hesitation” that there would be “no retaliation for anyone making an allegation or a call to a whistleblower hotline.”
But the whistleblower’s lawyers called Monday’s move “clearly retaliatory,” and they warned that it is “a crime to obstruct an investigation of Congress.”
We’re sure Joe Biden knows nothing about all this corruption. As usual, the president himself won’t have left any fingerprints. In this case, some cutout in the DOJ did the dirty work for him. But the bottom line is that the Justice Department answers to Joe Biden, who just happens to be the “Big Guy” involved at some level in Hunter’s foreign business dealings for which the first son allegedly failed to pay taxes.
This episode reminds us of the time Biden boasted about a quid pro quo with Ukraine regarding that prosecutor who was investigating Hunter while Joe was vice president. As Biden himself recounted, if Ukrainian officials didn’t “take action against the state prosecutor” [read: fire him] “I said … ‘We’re not going to give you the billion dollars. … I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars.’ … Well, son of a b**ch, he got fired.”
And just like that, an IRS agent was removed from a case almost certainly involving the president’s son.
Obama didn’t have to explicitly tell Lois Lerner to target Tea Party and Patriot groups in 2012. Likewise, Biden didn’t have to directly tell the IRS to get that agent off his son’s case. He can count on the fact that the complicit media will ask no questions and pretend like nothing happened.
Finally, the fact that the DOJ covered for Joe Biden on the same day as the release of Special Counsel John Durham’s damning report on FBI malfeasance regarding the whole Russian collusion fiasco reeks of two-tiered justice. That’s what you get when Democrats work in concert with the deep state. It doesn’t have to be illegal or even explicit collusion if they’re all just working toward the goal of empowering Democrats.
