Re: Heating Up the Regulatory State

“As a retired scientist, I always needed the entire scenario as known before designing an experiment. In the case of heat pump water heaters, there is no denying they are more energy efficient, but of course there is nowhere to gather all of the information about them easily. For example, the heat pump water heater creates water, and this needs to be pumped out somehow, often adding considerable cost to the install and more electricity daily to run. Then ask any plumber about how he is going to deal with the gas in the heat pump at end of life, as they can’t take the pump to the dump until it’s removed. So guess what? A huge recycle cost will be added to the water heater as well. For what gain, really?” —Pennsylvania

Re: In Brief: What Happened to Once-Red California?

“The points in this article are all valid. However, one other big change has largely contributed to the state’s shift left: public employee unions. I’ve lived in CA my whole life. I graduated from high school in 1972. It was about that time when unions started putting pressure on teachers to join. I had teachers who publicly voiced their opposition to unions. Now they probably couldn’t get a job in this state. I don’t know if there are any publicly funded jobs in the state outside of elected positions that aren’t unionized. But since the unions fund many of their campaigns, they might as well be members of the unions, too. They’re owned by them. Unless public sector unions are banned from making contributions, we’re doomed.” —California

“I was born and raised in California. I would like to believe that there is still a chance for my home state, but I really don’t think so. The reason is because while I don’t have any family left in the state, I do have one childhood friend, and I asked her in a Facebook post how she and her family were doing because of how bad things were. Her response: She was fine, and California was fine! She is either delusional or just doesn’t want to admit how bad it is.” —Alaska

Re: The Federalist Papers

“The three great writers of The Federalist Papers expressed many of the beliefs discussed within the Constitutional Convention in an effort to inform and compel colonials to accept the newly proposed federal government. They debated many ideas by other great thinkers and thought of numerous other concerns on their own. These great students of government structure were ahead of their time. We continue to strive for perfection, but the goal is far ahead. Modern man is given the challenge to place things in context and seek improvement. Who among us could perform as well as James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, or John Jay?” —Vermont

Re: CocaineGate: They Think We’re Idiots

“The real tragedy to this story is the Secret Service is made to look like the Keystone Cops. The Secret Service is being made to turn a blind eye to a crime it (probably) has already solved to politically protect someone. We are to believe that the premier protection agency in the world is too inept, incapable, and incompetent to solve a crime committed right under its nose. How can it protect the president if it can’t even find the person who brought cocaine into the White House?” —Virginia

Re: The Jihadi Attack in North Dakota

“WOW! I live in North Dakota, and I haven’t even heard about it!” —North Dakota

“I live 60 miles from Fargo and get Fargo news. No mention the assailant was a Muslim.” —Minnesota

Re: Why Parents of Trans Kids Won’t Admit an Awful Mistake

“I watched the last session of the Oregon legislature pass a bill that codifies grooming of our children. It is unconscionable that the leaders and all of the Oregon Democrat Party supported this movement to destroy the mental health of our children. But that has been the direction of this state for many years.” —Oregon

Re: Andrew Tate’s Toxic Masculinity

“We have no excuse. Entertainment reflects and influences the male role model. In the 1950s, we laughed at Ralph Kramden while acknowledging the better values of Steven Douglas (father of three sons) and Ward Cleaver (father of Beaver). But then came Archie Bunker, Ray Romano, Al Bundy, Tim Taylor, et al. promoting varying degrees of selfishness, incompetence, deceit, prejudice, cowardice, and greed. Our laughter obscured the pain of loss of honor, fidelity, sacrifice, integrity, courage, discipline, justice, responsibility, protection, provision, and humble tenderness. Until we repent, this mad devolution into ignominious and impotent irrelevance will squander our heritage awaiting better men whom are unlikely to be our progenitors.” —Missouri

Re: Good News: Family-Friendly American Theme Park Coming Soon

“I live 45 miles from Disney. But I would be happy to drive to this new place when it’s done. We haven’t been to Disney right next door for 35 years. We don’t even call it ‘Disney’ anymore.” —Florida

Re: Demos Want Biden/Harris Gone

“Trump supporters yearn to see justice. We KNOW the 2020 election was invalid due to untold thousands of unverified ballots mailed months in advance and/or deposited by Democrat ballot-harvesting mules in the dark of night and counted after conservative election polling workers were absent. Trump deserves our gratitude for having drained the DC Swamp more than ever. But our nation does NOT need a retributive POTUS; we need a POTUS of resolute integrity, clear vision, and moral courage to restore our nation’s defense; enforce borders; reduce bureaucracy, regulations, entitlements, and taxes; and stimulate the economy. Trump gets my kudos and plaudits, but DeSantis gets my vote.” —Missouri

“The Democrats are certain they can beat Trump, regardless of their candidate, because they have an election fraud system in place that no other political machine is prepared to overcome.” —North Carolina
