Four-Decade-Old CIA Report Warned of Global Cooling
Four decades ago, in August of 1974, the Central Intelligence Agency released a report titled, “Potential Implications of Trends in World Population, Food Productions, and Climate.” The subjects are reminiscent of what eco-alarmists clamor about today to justify draconian regulations in a supposedly warming world. However, the CIA report was addressing the possible detrimental effects of a cooling world. Interestingly, the analysis begins with a disclaimer of sorts: “The implications for the world food situation and for US interest would be considerably greater if climatologists who believe a cooling trend is underway prove to be right.” Would such a report today emphasize that continued global warming is a possibility and not “settled science”? Don’t hold your breath.
