Trump Secretly Took 9/11 Funds?
Another hack job asserts Trump admin took millions from NYFD health funds.
On the heels of Bob Woodward’s “bombshell” dud regarding President Donald Trump’s efforts to avoid a panic as the nation ramped up its response to the CV19 pandemic comes word of another “bombshell.” This latest hack job is directed primarily at the Demos’ most dependable emotionally incontinent constituents.
On the 19th anniversary observance of the 9/11 Islamist attack on our nation, a New York tabloid claimed in an “exclusive” that the “Trump administration secretly withheld millions” from the New York Fire Department’s World Trade Center Health Program. That is a fund to assist with medical services for firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics suffering 9/11-related illnesses.
What gave this absurd assertion legs is that, shamefully, Forbes repeated the “New York Daily News scoop” of bull pucky, headlining it as “Pure Evil.”
Anyone who believes that President Trump is “anti-NYFD” or “anti-NYPD,” or for that matter does not rank among the most supportive presidents with regard to first responders, would have to be a Joe Biden and Kamala Harris sycophantic hack.
Of course, it is precisely the fact that Trump is unabashedly supportive of first responders that this media lie is “news.”
So, who did the hacking? Democrat appointee Dr. David Prezant, the chief medical officer for the NYFD. After four years noticing that some of the massive funding allocated by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health for NYFD relief has been coming up short, Prezant announced this year, “Here we have sick World Trade Center-exposed firefighters and EMS workers at a time when the city is having difficult financial circumstances due to COVID-19, and we’re not getting the money we need to be able to treat these heroes.”
That actually is terrible, but this “pure evil secret” has NOTHING to do with President Trump.
As Congressman Pete King (R-NY) advised Prezant some time ago, one of New York City’s bureaucracies is in a dispute with the federal bureaucracy over payment of Medicare bills. As a result, and in accordance with rules and regulations that long precede the Trump administration, some “career civil servant” in the Treasury Department has withheld a total of $3.7 million from the NYFD fund over the last four years — withholding that began under Barack Obama’s administration. King is trying to resolve the issue.
Of course, it only took Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) a New York second to blame Trump: “The Trump Treasury Department siphoning congressionally appropriated funds meant to pay for 9/11 workers’ healthcare is an outrageous finger in the eye to the firefighters, cops and other first responders who risked their lives for us.” No doubt that if King knew about this NYFD shortage, so did Chuck Schumer. And if Donald Trump had known anything about this shortage, he would have immediately corrected the NYFD deficit himself!
Again, this was timed to undermine Trump’s strong support from first responders in New York and nationwide, the result of his strong support for first responders in New York and nationwide — in stark contrast to the Democrat attacks on police over the last three months of the riots fomented by the Left.
