“The worst thing ever done to our society was the closing of those ‘nut houses’ in the 1960s and ’70s.”

Re: Charlotte Murder Should Prompt Big Changes

“President Trump should sign orders right now that demand that every state provide long-term psychiatric asylums and that persons with a history of obvious mental illness should be readily committed. The worst thing ever done to our society was the closing of those ‘nut houses’ in the 1960s and ‘70s.” —Pennsylvania

Re: A Gruesome Murder Illustrates the Left’s Crime Failures

“Unfortunately, Iryna Zarutska would have been safer if she had remained in Ukraine! We have a significant mental health crisis in this country, and the Left continues to ignore the severity. This particular individual needed to be incarcerated in prison or a mental health institution, not free to brutally attack an innocent woman without warning. The Democrats have lost touch with reality. Maybe the judges and attorneys responsible for releasing this individual should take his place in prison on accomplice-to-murder charges!” —Washington

“This young lady came to America to escape the horror of war, only to experience worse. A disgusting and sad story that could have been avoided if these local Democrats cared half as much about U.S. citizens as they do about illegals.” —Texas

Re: What Else Did Biden’s Autopen Handlers 'Sign’?

“Clearly, Biden’s autopen was used for more than pardons, as he himself referenced executive orders and legislation. So beyond the pardons and clemencies, just what executive orders and legislation. Moreover, by whom?” —New York

“If history is an indicator, the autopen questions will remain questions. Accountability in Washington D.C. is an oxymoron.” —Kentucky

“Seems the lack of enthusiasm over this issue is because there was so much corruption and ineptitude within this administration, that accounting for it would be an endless exercise, and America has moved on. That is unfortunate because, as was the case with corruption in the Obama administration, and the deep state attack on Trump’s first term, the prevailing sentiment is that nobody in DC is ever held accountable.” —California

Re: Trump 2.2 — The Next Phase

“Excellent comment and ideas, Mr. Devine. As far as Mr. Trump not reading your page, maybe someone should tell him about this and have him bring you into his office to discuss your ideas. I have to agree with you on many of your bullet points. As an older person who is concerned about the future of our country for my grandchildren, this will be a defining moment in history.” —South Carolina

Re: Wednesday: Below the Fold

“As for Cracker Barrel, it’s to their credit that they listened to customer input. However, I’d be disappointed if they abandoned the entire redo of their stores. Keep the logo, keep the rockers, keep the merchandise, keep the old junk hanging for the walls and ceiling. I do, however, desperately want them to change the seating. Those hard wooden chairs are murder on the backs of us old folks. And please, DO NOT change the menu. It’s hard (and keeps getting harder) to find a restaurant that serves plain good food instead of trendy and/or highly spiced meals.” —Florida

Re: You’ve Been Misled About the Political Spectrum

“I’m 79 years old. I’ve known since I was 14 that Nazi meant National Socialist. Why is that so hard to get through to Americans? Why has it been almost 90 years, and people still think Nazi is bad but Socialism is good?” —Nevada

Re: The Leftist Freakout Over Chicago Continues

“Consider this: Would the Left be freaking out if Joe Biden had threatened the use of force domestically? Oh, right — he did do that! In Philadelphia, he threatened the American people with fighter jets and military force.” —Pennsylvania

Re: God-Given Rights and Tim Kaine’s Major Malfunction

“My suggested reading to clarify this question for Americans is the book The American Revolutionary Mind by C. Bradley Thompson. The colonists who were fully engaged with their church, whose pastors were enlightened by the writings of John Locke and others about the rights of man, were morally receptive to those teachings and were aware of the tyranny of King George and his appointed governors, and all the taxes that were forced upon the colonies. Consequently, when the Founders wrote the Declaration of Independence and were prepared to fight for their freedom, the average colonist was equally prepared to fight as well.” —California

Re: Leftmedia Gaslight About the Success of Self-Deportation

“It’s not just that illegals may be able to vote in some elections; more important for liberals is the fact that illegals have been counted in the latest census, providing for a disproportionate number of representatives in Congress. I support wholeheartedly President Trump’s initiative to redo the census by counting U.S. citizens only for purposes of representation.” —Ohio
