FBI & DOJ Practicing Partisanship in IRS Scandal?
Both investigative agencies knew of the scandal two years before it broke.
Judicial Watch recently released documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act which exposed the fact that both the FBI and the Obama Justice Department knew about and investigated the allegations of IRS’ targeting of conservative groups back in 2011, a full two years before the scandal became public. At the time, neither agency chose to levy any charges, and to date no charges have been filed and no one has been held criminally accountable for the scandal. Sadly, the lack of any legal actions taken on the part of either the FBI or the DOJ against the IRS have become par for the course in the Obama Era.
Indeed, this scandal has continued to expose and highlight just how partisan the departments of the FBI, DOJ and IRS have become under the Obama administration. The growing gulf in worldview between the Republicans and Democrats and the lack of any serious consequences for those non-elected officials of government agencies who act in a partisan manner has created a climate of corruption. Since Obama has been content to allow those caught in scandal to avoid prosecution and has simply blamed the Republicans for the problem of increased partisanship, the American people have grown weary and disgusted with the level of partisanship, cronyism and down right corruption in Washington. They see evidence of two different standards in Washington, those that apply to the American working class who are subject to Rule of Law, and those that apply to the politically connected ruling class who are seemingly above the law.
