Re: “Gas Panic Has Biden Looking Like Carter 2.0

“I think it is just as unfair to credit Biden with the Colonial Pipeline cyberattack as it was to attack Trump for COVID-19. Or Bush 44 for the 2008 meltdown. That being said, Biden certainly does deserve criticism for the inflation that is going on thanks to his overspending. He can share that credit with Obama and Trump, but he is the leader right now, having caused a 2021 annual deficit larger than the prior four years.” —Ohio

Re: “‘Who You Gonna Believe?’

“‘There is none so blind as he who will not see.’ When the Biden administration claims it sees no evidence that ‘unemployment’ handouts are giving people an incentive not to work, it’s because it refuses to look at the evidence. In truth, this has been known for many years. Economist Edgar Browning noted in his book, Stealing From Each Other: How the Welfare State Robs Americans of Money and Spirit, that the plurality of jobs obtained by unemployment compensation recipients are found in the last two weeks before the benefits run out. That’s not a coincidence.” —Minnesota

Re: “Biden Waives His Own Ethics Rule

“If the President can waive compliance by specific members of the administration, then does that mean their otherwise unethical behavior is no longer unethical? If it is not unethical, then why does it have to be proclaimed as such, and why is a pledge needed against that behavior? If that behavior is unethical, then how can anyone waive compliance? The president is directly allowing and affirming behavior that he has stated is unethical.” —Illinois

Re: “Refugees? Take in the ‘Terps’

“There are a few (maybe more than a few) instances where the U.S. has gone somewhere, made a mess, made promises — sometimes explicit, sometimes tacit — and then just bailed out and left others holding a big bag of horse manure, and often leaving those locals who actually helped us either out of a sense of duty or for payment in mortal danger. This should be a source of shame for all of us, and particularly those in positions of authority who committed these foul acts of betrayal.” —Florida
