Unmasking Obama’s Hypocrisy
The former president is as full of himself as ever.
We’re sick of these cloth masks, these face diapers. This isn’t how humans were meant to live. And the sooner Democrats get with the science and join us in calling for an end to them, we’ll call for an end to calling them out when they break their own rules. In the meantime, though, we’ll keep hammering away.
The latest paragon of hypocrisy is former President Barack Obama, who was seen scowling and maskless recently while talking to some dutifully masked employees of a homebuilding company at work on his newest mansion, this one in Hawaii.
Leftists, of course, break their own rules all the time. Especially this one. Why, it’s almost as if they know that the mask is far more about submission than it is about safety. The rogues’ gallery of unmasked Democrites includes plenty of heavy hitters: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Eric “Shanghai” Swalwell, Gavin Newsom, Stacey Abrams, Gretchen Whitmer, and of course Jill and Joe Biden.
But back to Barack, because his transgression touches on multiple fronts: greed, nastiness, arrogance, elitism, and hypocrisy, to name a few. This is, after all, his second oceanside mansion — the first one being on the elite leftist enclave of Martha’s Vineyard — and it makes us wonder whether he knew what he was getting into when he said before an adoring crowd, “I do think, at a certain point, you’ve bought enough mansions made enough money.”
As for the nastiness, just look at the guy’s face as he’s talking to that homebuilding team. Leftists in high places are, almost invariably, mean people. But here? It’s as if the drive-thru gal at Wendy’s shorted him an order of fries.
Perhaps what’s most striking here, though, is the arrogance and the elitism. This house isn’t just any house, after all. As Fox News reports: “The property on the southeastern tip of Oahu was purchased in 2015 by Obama’s friend and Obama Foundation chairman Marty Nesbitt for $8.7 million [and] was made famous in the 1980s by the TV show ‘Magnum P.I.’ Construction on the property came under fire in 2020 when reports surfaced that the project was using a loophole to retain a seawall that is reportedly causing beach erosion.”
As Pro Publica notes: “Scientists and environmental experts say seawalls are the primary cause of beach loss throughout the state. Such structures interrupt the natural flow of the ocean, preventing beaches from migrating inland.”
But who cares what scientists and environmental experts have to say? When you’re the Obamas and you’ve got an oceanfront mansion to build, you tell ‘em to pound sand.
“Rules for thee and not for me,” posted Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who was talking about Obama’s lack of a mask but might just as well have been talking about his ability to keep that seawall.
Lastly, there’s the issue of global warming climate change, which Obama has been warning us about for as long as we can remember. Why on earth, then, does he keep buying oceanfront property? Doesn’t he worry that these colossal investments will be underwater one day soon? Or perhaps he’s convinced himself that the moment he won the Democrat nomination for president really was “the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”
The man is nothing if not supremely self-confident.
