Famous author of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has been using her platform on social media for individuals to share their “transition” stories and bring visibility to the many issues surrounding the destructive nature of the trans agenda.

One particularly heart-wrenching story was of a young woman who developed polycystic ovary syndrome and potentially even cancer as a result of her surgeries.

Other news sources have also published harrowing stories of regret along with the serious health complications individuals underwent in attempting to reconcile their gender dysphoria. The biggest underlying theme from testimonies and from studies is that gender reassignment surgeries sometimes cause irreversible damage.

One peer-reviewed study demonstrates that “transgender men and women” have a higher mortality rate after surgery. Some of the leading causes of death in gender dysphoric men were “cardiovascular disease, lung cancer, HIV-related disease, and suicide.” For “transgender men” (i.e. women), it simply stated that they died of non-natural causes, which heavily implies suicide. Overall, the hormones and surgeries shorten the life expectancy of gender dysphoric people who choose this path by 50%.

The UK’s University of Birminghams’s aggressive research intelligence facility (Arif) conducted a mega study in which they analyzed over a hundred medical studies on the aftereffect of “gender affirming” surgery. Two such studies from the UK and Holland suggest that 20% of people who undergo these surgeries end up regretting it. Another study found that the suicide rate still remains high even after transition.

And yet, gender-affirming surgeries and hormone therapies are the ways that gender dysphoria is commonly treated. These medical avenues can be pursued with ease — no mental health professional permission needed. Medical doctors are lining up to perform these services despite ample evidence that this avenue is neither caring nor in the best health interest of the patient.

This is especially troubling because, according to The Federalist, scholars say that “56.7 percent of detransitioners, or people who try to reverse their transgender surgery, believe they received inadequate mental health assessments before transitioning and 58.0 percent believe that their gender dysphoria was caused by trauma or a mental health condition.” In light of these facts and studies, it is scary to think how many more gender dysphoric people could stumble into this life-altering medical debacle.

Transition surgeries are big business and range from $3,000-$100,000. With more and more young people identifying as “trans” — Gen Z leads with 1.8% identifying as “trans” — it is in the financial interest of gender-affirming medical professionals to convince as many of them as possible that they need surgery.

At least 20% of “trans” people regret their surgeries; there’s a 50% higher chance of death as a result of undergoing these surgeries; and there’s almost no deterrence to the risk of suicide. So to even consider using these methods on children is horrifying.

In fact, countries that have been studying the effects of hormone treatment — such as Sweden, Denmark, and France — have now outlawed its use. Sweden’s health agency in particular remarked that even these early interventions with hormone therapy are “potentially fraught with extensive and irreversible adverse consequences such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, infertility, increased cancer risk, and thrombosis.” This is just hormones. When you add to that gender-affirming surgeries, it’s a recipe for disaster.

It puts a whole new light on the Texas bill that calls parents who allow their children to undergo these mutilations child abusers. It also calls into question the whole practice of relieving parents of the custody of their children who are struggling with these gender issues. “Gender affirmation” is leading to more deaths, not saving lives.
