Re: “Why Should We Care About Brittney Griner?

“I’ve seen Brittney play and say she is talented. But that is where I stop with any accolades. First, Brittney said she didn’t know the hashish was in her bag. Then she claimed she has a doctor’s approval. Which is it? Really doesn’t matter since hashish is against the law in Russia. Brittney is just another of a long line of self-privileged individuals who think laws don’t apply to them. Equally loathsome are the comments from Nygaard. She played every card in the deck — race, sex, and orientation. It’s none of them. It’s, again, someone who thinks they are above the law. If you watch sports, explaining the bad behavior of players is one of the tasks of the coach.” —Arizona

“Griner displayed her naive privilege as the epitome of the ugly American tourist, too arrogant and conceited to bother to respect foreign customs and laws. Not all American tourists behave this way. No doubt, most observe: ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do.’ That does not mean the American tourist must violate his or her conscious or forfeit pride in the U.S. It simply means to honor and respect foreign customs. American tourists must recognize their role as ambassadors, to represent the best of the U.S. without offending their host’s nation or culture. That is how we promote international goodwill.” —Missouri

“Let me see if I have this straight. This Brittney Griner is the same Brittney Griner who hides in the locker room to protest the USA and the national anthem, yet now she expects the same government that she decries to bend over backwards to secure her release from a problem that is entirely of her own doing? Does that about sum it up?” —Texas

Re: “A Sickening Report From Uvalde

“376 LEOs, all of whom presumably carrying guns, unable to come to a reasonable, supremely necessary decision against one shooter. A heart-wrenching illustration of the necessity in this country for the Second Amendment. All it would have taken was one good guy with a gun. Are you listening, Joe Biden? Are you listening, America?” —Missouri

Re: “Joe Biden Is Keeping His ‘Unity’ Promise!

“We have Biden as an overreaction to Trump. Trump was polarizing, which is a huge negative. It would be a huge mistake for Republicans to nominate him next election if the reaction to his election would again be someone of Biden’s calibre. Biden is an absolute disaster. Trump did good things for everyone as president but was despised by lefties. The damage done by the anti-Trumpers by electing Biden — who did his best to hide his obvious debilities — is monstrous. We don’t need, and can’t survive, another dud like Biden, who really is just an airhead being handled by America-hating progressives. Trump was not worth getting Biden as president.” —New York

Re: “Pelosi’s Impeccable Investment Timing

“Giving subsidies to publicly traded companies? That should not happen. Moreover, some irony — I thought it was the Democrats (e.g. Sandy Cortez and Bernie Sanders) who wanted to raise taxes on those evil corporations! The only subsidies government should be giving are reduced taxation and reduced regulations, and then get out of the way for all U.S. corporations operating legally and in good faith. If Donald Trump or other prominent Republicans just mentioned that they liked some company or wanted to see some success for an American publicly traded company (much less advocating for subsidies), there would be a January 6-type of investigation.” —Texas

Re: “Are EVs the Future?

“Newton expressed the concept of ‘conservation of energy’ to help virtue-signaling electric vehicle buyers. The law regarding ‘conservation of energy’ is stated as ‘energy may be transformed from one form to another, but energy can NOT be created or destroyed.’ This concept informs the student of reality that the energy for my electric vehicle must originate from somewhere — with a likely origin from a coal plant or other biomass fuel. So the ‘clean electric recharging’ of my vehicle is a delusional lie. The electricity probably came from biomass fuels.” —Ohio

Re: “This Just In: Lotteries Rob the Poor

“What is curious about the lotteries in all but five states is how much is really going directly to their stated purposes. After all, the managerial and administrative costs have been covered (and I’ll bet the salaries made by the top managers and administrators are very large). If it looks like a scam and smells like a scam, a state lottery ‘to help education’ just might be a scam. But it sure puts a lot of out-of-office politicians and their friends and relatives into lucrative and high-paying positions.” —California

“Sounds like the gambling industry is following the Planned Parenthood abortion industry model to target minorities and low income. Sadly, it worked for PP, and it’s working for gambling. God have mercy on us!” —Kentucky

Re: “Willful Destruction: Biden’s Military Policies

“So sad to see our military demoralized and disrespected by the leadership. I’m not a vet, but I have family that were or are serving now. It’s never been so bad as it is now from the reports I receive. I had a young man working for me a couple years ago and he was planning to join the Navy. I’ve always encouraged young men and women to take the opportunity to serve. I’ve seen it help more than it’s hurt most people. When his time got close he asked what I thought. I had to tell him it was a question that was hard to answer and he needed to make an informed choice. I final told him I personally could not serve those in charge at this time. I felt bad saying it because it shouldn’t matter. But now it does; with Biden it shows how much.” —Oregon
