Re: Trump’s ‘Shock and Awe’ Tariff Strategy
“Outstanding summary of Trump’s strategy — clear and lucid, unlike all the other Beltway media churners. Just what I expect from The Patriot Post!” —California
“Alexander’s opening image quote says it all: ‘We have been in a global trade war for 60 years, and getting our butts kicked. Trump is the first US president in decades with the guts to fire back.’ Amen.” —New York
“For all you equity market bed wetters, remember in 2022 when the Nasdaq dropped 30% and the S&P 500 was down 20% and the mass media spent the year telling us Biden and Harris were the greatest leaders ever?” —Massachusetts
“Excellent observations, which the mainstream media is intentionally obfuscating. From the early decades of the last century, there has been an ongoing trade war, only the United States has been the single country not fighting until now!” —Massachusetts
“Nothing new. Trump began talking about inequitable trade with foreign nations decades ago. Anyone who is surprised by his strategic rope-a-dope needs to read his book!” —Oregon
“I’m going out on a limb here, but in 100 years the history chapters being written today will be on par with things like the Revolution, the Constitutional Convention, the Civil War, WWI & II, Reagan’s ending of the Cold War, etc. These are indeed interesting times that we’re living in. Like you, Mr. Alexander, ‘I find Trump’s dynamic leadership invigorating, if not just refreshing.’ This is amazing political theater and long overdue.” —Maryland
Re: The Pros and Cons of Trump’s Tariff Bomb
“Trump’s four-dimensional chess game goal is to bring back manufacturing to America. He will do that with these unprecedented tariffs, which he promised in his campaign and the GOP voted for. Could this be a patented rope-a-dope move by the ‘orange felon’ to gain a favorable legacy and bleach his numerous convictions? Other than immigrants, we no longer have the human resources — no trained workforce, no new plants to be completed before 2026.” —Illinois
Re: The Tortuous Truth About Tort Law
“So, the lawyers are going to rein in tort reform? Funny. And all over America, foxes are replacing themselves with sheepdogs as guardians of henhouses. Dogs and cats, living together… Start with MEDICAL tort reform — you know, the thing that adds 35% to every bill because of malpractice insurance, whose costs they happily pass along to patients.” —Oklahoma
Re: Musk and the Metastatic Woke Mind Virus
“Great assessment of the virus plaguing the Left. Keep flooding them with your clear logic and common sense. Sooner or later, they may catch on!” —Georgia
Re: Federalism and School Lunches
“As a former school board member, I was appalled to learn the details of the school lunch program. To say the federal government covers the overhead is an understatement. The federal government picks up 100% of the tab if school districts can get 100% student participation, regardless of their ability to pay. Then it regulates what the school can serve and how it’s cooked. The more meals that are served, the more money districts get — and the more the program grows. It’s just one more way to completely control the lives of children. Shame on us for falling for this ploy.” —New Mexico
Re: Woman Takes a Knee for Women’s Fencing
“I don’t understand how USA Fencing can say, as Emmy Griffin puts it, that ‘there hasn’t been research done to confirm that being a male in a female fencing competition has that much of an impact.’ In just about any sport that has a physical component to it, men will ALWAYS have the physical advantage! Puberty makes sure of that. Men have stronger bones, better muscles for strength, and are usually taller and leaner. I am glad the only mixed ‘sports’ I play today are poker and fishing (though women are better at distracting their opponents in poker by what they wear [or don’t wear]).” —Illinois
“I think real men should step up and shame these wimpy pretend girls and women who are ‘transitioning’ so they will have an unfair advantage to win undeserved awards and false acclaim. In any commonsense understanding, they are cheating. If my brother pulled this crap, I’d kick his butt and disown him publicly.” —California
Re: Maintaining the Rule of Law in Deportation
“My skin in the immigration game is my extended family who came here under U4U. This past week, a notice sent — allegedly in error — told the 240,000+ Ukrainians under U4U that they have seven days to get out. Ham-handed and idiotic. I want ALL 20 million+ illegal entrants deported so we can make room for actually useful people such as the Ukrainians. What I expect, though, is that the Trump admin will get rid of the worst of the criminals and then move on to other things. Boo.” —Oklahoma
“It’s interesting that Illinois would target parents of homeschooled children for punishment, including jail time, for doing a poor job of instructing their own children. Maybe that’s the tool that should be applied to public school teachers who fail to produce capable students. Probably won’t happen, but the parents should get their education tax dollars back for the state’s failure to perform.” —Washington
