Re: “California’s Reverse Gold Rush

“The current version just introduced includes measures to allow California to impose wealth taxes on residents even years after they left the state and moved elsewhere.” I wonder how they’ll try to implement such a tax on non-Californians. It reminds me of when I was stationed in San Jose while a Navy pilot some 40 years ago. When I arranged to sell a car to another pilot, the California authorities informed us that I would be expected to pay sales tax on the transaction, even though I was a legal resident of South Carolina (where the car was registered) and I would be selling it to a Missouri citizen who would put MO plates on it. We concluded the money grab was unenforceable and simply ignored it. I’m probably still a wanted man. —Georgia

Re: “Trust-Busting Google

This is the typical deception of the government. The government is going to fine a company, with whom it is in bed, for all the wrong reasons. (Censorship? What censorship?) And with a “wink, wink,” some paltry sum is assessed. Google lowers its head in “shame” and continues on its merry way with business as usual. And that is doing the bidding of the regime when it comes to silencing important voices on the issues of the day. —New Jersey

Re: “Government Unions: Costly and Corrupt

Sadly, unionism has morphed into one of the closest forms of communism in the USA today. Unions put the health (measured in money and power) of the organization ahead of its members and the industries their members work in. The primary “product” offered by unions is membership. The goal of any for-profit entity is to grow profits. A primary way to grow union membership and profits is to decrease the efficiency of the members’ output, thereby increasing the amount of manpower required to achieve the required output. —Ohio

We got the bureaucracy from Congress, which abdicated its authority so it didn’t have to face backlash when things go wrong. —Minnesota

Re: “Pfizer’s No Good, Very Bad Week

You mentioned the questionable COVID statistics, which deserve detailed scrutiny. If someone hits the ER with a broken arm, you can be sure they will be tested for COVID. If they have no complaints, other than a painful arm, what does a positive test mean other than more money for the hospital? When I was training, filling out a death certificate was the job of the intern, the most junior person who had an MD or DO after their name. If an 80-year-old with a long history of heart disease dies while receiving treatment for their colon cancer with pulmonary metastasis, what goes first on the death certificate? If they tested COVID-positive, I’ll give you one guess. —New Hampshire

Re: “Unvaxed GOAT Wins Aussie Open

A vaccine that does not prevent getting the disease or spreading the disease and may pose health risks worse that the actual disease, and they will not let Djokovic enter the U.S.? Makes all kinds of sense. If the rest of the tennis players had a spine they would take the hit and boycott the U.S. Open. —Tennessee

Re: “Cops Are Always ‘Driven by Racism’?

I believe that in today’s world what’s becoming prevalent is “tribalism” more so that “racism.” One tribe/village/group raids another and sells off the captured or enslaves them into their group. This is not based necessarily on color but on just about anything. It’s also happened all over the world. Human nature. —Indiana

Re: “Harris Defiles the Declaration

As a member and standard-bearer for the Democrat Party, Vice President Harris’s selective reference to the Declaration of Independence should come as no surprise. Democrats infamously rejected and even booed the inclusion of God in their party platform. —Florida

Re: “The Blind Leading the Blind

Radio helped liberate the European people who needed direction on how to overcome an oppressive government. A few million pamphlets invested in China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran as well as a few South American countries could start a march to freedom instead of a march to the border. —Washington

Re: “Friday Short Cuts

Senator Tom Cotton is right to be concerned about allowing illegal aliens to vote in DC. This would be the finishing touch on the Democrats’ grand scheme to rebuild their voting base by bringing hordes of illegals into the country. They’ll start allowing illegal voting in DC and then expand it to all states, and you soon have one-party rule in the nation! —Pennsylvania
