Mission and Objective
In 1996, to counter the erosion of our Republic's political and social institutions under the regime of Bill and Hillary Clinton, and the unmitigated ability of the mainstream media to manipulate public opinion to conform with the Left's statist views, Mark Alexander launched the online journal, The Federalist, now published as The Patriot Post, the oldest political digest on the Web.
He did so with sage advice from conservative protagonists William F. Buckley (National Review, Emeritus) and Ed Feulner (Heritage Foundation, Emeritus), foreseeing a day when the Internet would overtake print and cable media as a primary source of news, policy and opinion — the most significant First Amendment advancement since our nation's founding.
Together, they craft The Patriot Post's timeless and highly acclaimed analysis, advancing our mission to extend the endowment of Liberty to the next generation by, first, advocating for individual rights and responsibilities; second, supporting the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary; and third, promoting free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values, as outlined in our Statement of Principles.
The Patriot Post provides rock-solid conservative touchstone for the expanding ranks of grassroots Americans Patriots from all walks of life. Our informative and entertaining analysis of the most significant news, policy, and opinion is now available to millions of readers on the Web, through social media outlets and free by email in two daily formats.
First and foremost, The Patriot Post is an outstanding advocate of our Republic's constitutional Rule of Law over the rule of men, the irrevocable terminus of the latter being tyranny. Our editors frame current social, political, and policy issues in the constitutional context established by our Founders and supported today by the plurality of Americans, who uphold the most basic tenet of our Republic: "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
Our objective is to equip the current generation of American Patriots with the right information to more effectively "Support and Defend" the unalienable Rights of Man and the eternal cause of Liberty, as enumerated in our Declaration of Independence, and its subordinate guidance, our Republic's Constitution.
We rely on reputable sources, and never post the sensationalist "click bait" that now infests the pages of both Left and Right political news sites. Nor will you find any of the "fake news" fabrications and editorial tripe which is driven by pursuit of market share that determines the advertising revenues on which commercial websites depend.
Our website pages and emails are certified "Ad Free." Because we do not depend on a single penny of ad revenue, we focus solely on providing you content that is actually newsworthy -- worthy of your time -- rather than constantly churning the ubiquitous topics which now dominate the mainstream media's relentless 24/7 recycled spin.
As an additional resource for our readers, our editors also compile top syndicated columnists and provide an executive summary of most notable headlines of the day. On the lighter side, we also offer memes and cartoons, and begin the week with our Patriot Humor edition on Monday. And, Mark Alexander provides in-depth analysis of important topics in his Wednesday column.

Today, The Patriot Post has a large following, including policymakers in the executive and legislative branches, leaders in state and local government, and analysts in the community of conservative research and academic policy organizations. We are an indispensable grassroots resource for "grass-top" leaders nationwide, who utilize our outstanding rebuttal to contemporary political, social, and mainstream media protagonists on the Left as a force multiplier, a source of critical information and inspiration for their grassroots constituencies.
As was the case with The Federalist (Papers) in 1787, the premier resource for understanding the Liberty and Rule of Law enshrined in our Republic's Constitution, and from which we derive much of our constitutionally constructionist editorial inspiration, The Patriot Post is published under the pseudonym "Publius," and many of our editors and advisors are listed likewise.
You will note that, from our inception, every edition is authored collectively, over the signature, "Publius."
The Federalist Papers were published by James Madison, Alexander Hamilton and John Jay, and provided a detailed explanation of the meaning of our Constitution, in support for its ratification. But they chose to publish pseudonymously because it was the timeless message of Liberty enshrined in our Constitution, which they were promoting -- not themselves. Today, in a mainstream media market place built on personalities, we have chosen since our inception, to use pseudonyms, because our mission is to promote Liberty, and not personalities.
Mission and Operations Funding
From our inception, The Patriot Post's mission and operation budget has been funded solely by the voluntary financial support of our fellow Patriots. We are not sustained by any political, special interest, or parent organization, and we do not accept advertising to ensure our advocacy and editorial content is not restrained by commercial influence — as is the case with all mass media outlets. Thus, you will note our website and email editions are free of advertising clutter.
But, publishing, like freedom, is not free. We employ outstanding editorial, technical, and support staff, feature and content contributors who are experts in their respective fields, and an indispensable research and analysis team. In addition, our Internet publishing efforts require a sizable investment beyond the human one; this includes robust hardware, custom software, technology services, office space, installations, maintenance and more. We also incur substantial legal, accounting and insurance costs.
Yet our mission and operations budget is a small fraction of the expenses of other influential conservative organizations, primarily because we do not occupy shiny Beltway office space and our dedicated staff members are motivated by mission and not deterred by modest wages.

Though we are donor funded, we have not elected "501(c)(3)" tax-exempt status so that we can avoid government regulation of our editorial content. We chose a donor-based model in order to offer our publications without a fee to students, and especially to American military personnel around the world, consistent with our Military Mission of Service to support our Patriots in uniform, who stand ready to defend our nation with their blood and life.
We do, however, also operate Patriot Foundation Trust, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization with the primary mission of identifying the next generation of conservative leaders, and providing programs and resources to foster the proper context for understanding Liberty and Rule of Law.
