Leftist Deep State Hacks Back Harris
It’s not surprising in the least to see such Trump-deranged government employees interfere in another election.
The deep state is real, and its actors can play a role in American elections that vastly outweighs whatever Russian Facebook posts might do.
On Sunday, a group calling itself National Security Leaders for America crafted and signed a letter endorsing Kamala Harris for president.
(Yeah, it’s me; back on the endorsement beat.)
“We are former public servants who swore an oath to the Constitution,” the letter solemnly begins. The writers and hundreds of signatories proceed to list their credentials: “We are retired generals, admirals, senior noncommissioned officers, ambassadors, and senior civilian national security leaders. We are Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. We are loyal to the ideals of our nation — like freedom, democracy, and the rule of law — not to any one individual or party.”
The list of signatories is impressive, and their language sounds appealingly nonpartisan. Spoiler alert: It’s not.
“We are trained to make sober, rational decisions,” they boast. “That is how we know Vice President Harris would make an excellent Commander-in-Chief.”
Hahahahahahahahahaha!

The letter borrows straight from Biden’s countless overheated speeches about Donald Trump, saying he “threatens our democratic system.”
If you want to know what a truly sober and rational decision looks like, see the open letter from General B.B. Bell, U.S. Army (Ret.). He’s a member of The Patriot Post’s National Advisory Committee. He served in uniform for almost four decades, including extended deployments overseas in both peace and war. And he warned sternly against just what kind of commander-in-chief Harris would really be.
Unfortunately, the deep state is full of men and women who drink too much water from the Potomac River. They begin to serve their career interests more than those of the American people. They buy the fiction that government (as enacted by Democrats) is what’s best for everyone, which by definition sets them against someone like Trump, an outsider whose purpose was to drop a metaphorical bomb on the DC establishment.
That’s why, rather than serve the people who elect presidents and Congresses, these deep state clowns try to change election results to suit their own agenda. See 2016 and 2020 for proof.
Operation Crossfire Hurricane in 2016 was the effort to prove Trump somehow colluded with the Russians to win. It was utterly false, of course, but the fallout from that scheme — funded and started by his opponent, Hillary Clinton — plagued his presidency for years, leading to the first impeachment and, arguably, the second.
In 2020, the deep state interfered by publicly discrediting the very true and real report about Hunter Biden’s laptop, which revealed Joe Biden’s corruption in places like Ukraine and China.
In fact, nine of the 51 former intelligence officials who gave Biden cover to lie about that laptop in a presidential debate also signed this letter endorsing Harris. Those nine are former Director of National Intelligence Jim Clapper, former CIA Director Michael Hayden, former CIA Director Leon Panetta, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Acting CIA Director John McLaughlin, former CIA Chief of Staff Laurence Pfeiffer, former Department of Defense Chief of Staff Jeremy Bash, CIA Chief of Station John Sipher, and former National Intelligence Council Chair Gregory Frye Treverton.
Brennan, in particular, was also a key player in the election interference in 2016, so his continued behavior is true to form.
If the deep state opposes and undermines Trump, is it any wonder he complains about it?
His most recent objection pertains to the investigation into the two assassination attempts against him. “OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM IS CORRUPT AND DISCREDITED,” he said in a typically caps-locked statement Monday. He called for Florida to handle the investigation of the second attempt because “the Kamala Harris/Joe Biden Department of Justice and FBI are mishandling and downplaying” it.
In covering the story, here’s The Washington Post’s “Democracy Dies in Darkness” headline: “Trump foments distrust of federal law enforcement over assassination attempt probe.”
Gee, and who would distrust a weaponized federal law enforcement system?
If the Post thinks Trump is so wrong, perhaps its reporters could answer why the DOJ released the letter from the second would-be assassin, who apologized for failing and offered a $150,000 reward for anyone who could “finish the job” and assassinate Trump. It’s doubly strange when we still know basically nothing about the first would-be assassin.
Bill Barr, Trump’s former attorney general, didn’t leave his job on the best of terms with his boss, but he said he’s “dumbfounded” by the “rash” release of that letter. He explained, “It served no purpose other than to risk inciting further violence.”
That’s not all. FBI Miami field office Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey Veltri is leading the bureau’s investigation into that second attempt, but when Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz testifies Wednesday before the House Judiciary Committee’s Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, Republicans plan to ask why an allegedly anti-Trump activist like Veltri is in charge.
In short, the deep state hates Trump, and its players are dedicated to opposing him at every turn. When viewed in that context, it’s a lot less impressive when a bunch of the DC brass endorses the woman who represents not change but the status quo for the deep state.
