Yes, the FBI Targeted Concerned Parents
A whistleblower gave evidence to the GOP proving the DOJ’s abuse of power.
“I can’t imagine any circumstance in which the Patriot Act would be used in the circumstances of parents complaining about their children, nor can I imagine a circumstance where they would be labeled as domestic terrorism.” —Attorney General Merrick Garland
Those were the words the AG spoke to a House Judiciary Committee hearing after a National School Boards Association (NSBA) letter and Garland’s subsequent memo that served as a directive to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
As you may recall, concerned parents were classified as “domestic terrorists” by the NSBA, the Biden administration, and the Department of Justice. These parents made their grievances known in school board meetings (often loudly and angrily) and started to push back against some of the insanity in the education system. Frankly, they had much to complain about: critical race theory, LGBTQ+ indoctrination, masking, child vaccinations, and other grievances associated with leftists and poor COVID policy.
Both the letter and the memo received tremendous pushback. Garland’s memo directing the FBI to launch investigations on these angry parents was particularly bad because it is unconstitutional, thus Garland assuring the House Judiciary Committee that he would not be investigating any parents, only violent actions.
Well, an FBI whistleblower brought evidence exposing this gross government overreach. In a letter written and signed by Congressmen Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Mike Johnson (R- LA), they have documented instances of the DOJ using the FBI to launch investigations based on hearsay and a tip line into moms and dads and even elected Republican officials on the grounds of Garland’s directive. These parents have been tagged as terror threats on the basis of allegations submitted to the FBI through the tip line, not because of any violence or illegal activity. This clearly violates these parents’ First Amendment rights and is a blatant attempt to intimidate these individuals into silent submission.
This information coming to light after denials and distractions is just another instance of Team Biden’s constant gaslighting on issues that it knows are unpopular and wrong. In this case, the refrain is, We’re not labeling parents terrorists … but if we are that’s a really good thing because words are violence.
According to Jordan and Johnson, Garland’s memo has wasted the FBI’s time and resources. This is an understatement considering the mob’s actions in the wake of the SCOTUS leak and before that with the BLM riots. Garland specifies in his memo those who are actually committing crimes: “Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation’s core values.” One need look no further than those protesting outside the conservative Supreme Court justices’ homes to see this attorney general’s flagrant disregard for law and order.
Article after article have cited how dystopian and un-American the actions of the DOJ and the Biden administration have been in this matter. Nichole Neily, president of Parents Defending Education, succinctly captures the feelings of many conservative parents now that there is evidence that the DOJ has indeed targeted them as potential “domestic terrorists.” She said: “For months, the Biden Administration has mocked parents’ concerns about their children’s education, gaslighting them over what was truly taking place in America’s schools. Now we know that the FBI has, indeed, been investigating citizens for exercising their constitutional right to petition their government for a redress of grievances. It is past time for the government to be transparent about how — and why — federal law enforcement was weaponized against America’s families, and for those bureaucrats to be held accountable.”
Biden and his radical leftist influencers have foolishly made parents into a voting coalition — all for another proven injustice inflicted upon families by these woke leftist policies.
